Should I let my 12 year old get her nipples pierced?

My ex-wife has told our 12 year old daughter that she sees no harm if she wants to get her nipples pierced.
Although we have joint custody the court has said that I can't stop this if my daughter wants to do it and one parent agrees.
After listening to my wife & daughter tell me why she wants it done and why it shouldn't matter I'm stuck between continuing my protests and lose my daughter's love or agree to it. What are your thoughts. I still don't like it.

She is only twelve years old. Of course she should not have her nipples pierced! Her breasts are still growing, doing something like that can cause damage that impair their development.

She should not be having sex either. Getting ones nipples pierced is a sexual act that is intended to attract others that have a kinky fetish for that sort of thing. It is still not normal for twelve year olds to be sexually active.

i do think that your daughter is awefully young, but if she and her mother are okay with it, then I say let her. I would however, go with her when she gets them pierced, so that you can make sure it is in a clean shop. Do not discourage expression! If no shop will do it, then I suggest finding an amateur piercer who will.
I wish I would have done so with my daughter, but it's too late now...

People die from getting their nipples pierced look on the internet,type in 17 year old girl dies from nipple piercing.Im serious its really sad,plus in my mind its kinda weired 2 get a piercing in a place other than ur ear.Try 2 convince her 2 settle with a helix,conch,or tragus piercing.Search the web and show and try 2 convince her how kool the piercings r.Then show her the artical about the 17 year old girl,and how and why she died.If u get these piercings I reccomended make time 2 look up how 2 clean the ears,make sure she gets pierced with a needle NOT a gun.Hope this helpz!!!;)

I can't believe this is even an option. If you find a shop willing to do nipple piercings on a 12year old, they should be shut down.

That is the most disgusting thing I have ever read & I am pro piercing but never a 12 year olds nipples. Wtf. I am shocked a judge would let that slide.

Have you seen a NORMAL 12-year-old with PIERCED NIPPLES???First of all,your daughter's breast will stop growing normaly,maybe it'll never grow at all!Second,your daughter won't stop love you just because you didn't let her do nipple piercing,she will stop love you if you LET her do nipple piercing!(see above why)

Kids are piercing other kids today. Unless a parent happens to see their children undressed, they never know until rumor gets back that they have their foreskins, belly button,nipples, and labs pierced. The sad part is that what was once a secret area of a person's body is put on display for other kids to see for bragging rights. NASTY!!!!!

Ya know you are right, the kids nowadays go into the fitting rooms alone, while the parent is hunting for more clothes. How many young teens allow their mom to see them naked in the shower? But what is disturbing is do these kids know how to keep the area clean? One thing to get a piercing, but infection could surface. Then the need for mom to help them, comes the yelling and dishonesty. Peer Pressure is very hard at their age, they want to fit in and the consequences that follow can be harmful.
