I recently had an appointment with Lisa at Eclipse, I was very pleased with the cut she gave me and the color is very natural. Just what I was looking for!

In responce to Patricia S of Boston
After reading your review I would like to clear up a few things. I've been in the business for 30 years and owning my own salon for the last 21. I find it highly unlikely that you could have had such bad experience in my salon. Upon arrival every client is asked if the would like coffee, tea, sparkling or still water. We are a VERY friendly and professional salon. Your review was so scathing I wonder if you even had a service here.I also find it hard to believe that so many things could have gone wrong at one time. As for anyone reading this review all I can say is stop by and see for yourself. David Thompson, owner |

I had my first cut and color at Eclipse Salon this morning and absolutely loved the salon. From the moment I walked in the staff was friendly and accomodating. My color is spectacular and the cut was better than any I have had in a long time. As the salon is just a short distance from my home it is extremely convenient and I think the area is fortunate to have Eclipse as a neighbor. As a busy mom and student I must say my visit to Eclipse was an extremely relaxing and positive experience. I will definitely recommend the salon to my friends.

I am very excited tha there is a better choice in Milton. I don't have to go to Boston anymore, to find Professional, Friendly and knowledgeable Stylist. I go to Eclipse Salon in Milton now. It is not only convenient but chic and hip. The staff is friendly and they sent me home shaking with all the free coffee I had!:) and the best hair cut ever!

I have been going to Eclipse in Boston for many many years and Rochelle can do color like nobody else!! I was not happy about the Milton move (that excuse to go into town is gone) but I followed Rochelle to Milton! I am not at all disappointed--the salon is beautiful, everyone is warm, as always, the parking is free and the evening hours really work!

1 I've been going to a salon on Tremont Street in Boston for about 2 years, and I thought I'd give Eclipse a try as it is right near my home. I ended up wih just a simple cut and wanted somehing more fancy - not sure Lisa could have handled anything more than a simple "bob". Don't get me wrong, I look ok, but her skills just seem to be lacking in order to perform higher-level styles- seems like she nneds more practice and training. This salon promotes a "Newbury Street" experience without the hassle, but I just think some of the staff members need more work and confidence befire that is true. |

I love this Salon. I can't imagine how others could have had unfriendly service. I was really late for my first appt, and rather than being scolded I was offered wine so I would relax. Parking was instant, the service was efficient. David listened and made suggestions and I ended up with something that is just right for me- easy care but stylish and the color is fantastic. Then for the true test, I sent my partner Bob for the man's version. Different stylist- last minute appt- and his hair looks great- much shorter and more current than his old cut. Great atmosphere and such a nice addtiion to this area!

30 years in business & that is how you address a customer who is telling you she didnt have a positive experience in your salon? You should be the bigger person & apologize; tell her to visit the salon again so that you can address her concerns & show her how wonderful the staff & service is. I have had many positive salon experiences & also some real doozies. How my concerns are handled at any business determines whether or not I would return or even recommend it to someone else. In this instance I would not do either. |

To Anoy, The client in question did not reveal who she was so how is it possible to reply? I don't think she was ever in the salon, but if she were I would hope that she would bring her concerns to my attention so that they could be resolved. Thank you for your opinion |

I was excited that the salon opened in Milton. I visited the shop and was enthused to try a new stylist. I was welcomed into the shop, as the only customer present, and was offered a beverage. My stylist was a friendly man, but mentioned he was also working in the hotel industry and was only trimming hair as a part-time gig. Although he did trim my hair, it looked nothing like the photo image I provided him prior to my haircut, nor did I receive any consultation on my hairstyle prior to the cut. He merely looked at the photo and said, "I can do that." When I left his chair, my hair was neither brushed nor styled in any way. He did push his fingers full of gel through my hair to give me a more slicked-back look, which did not correspond to the hair style in the photo I provided. Before leaving, I made a point of asking him for a brush, so that I might fix my hair. When I approached the manager, he was working the phones and less than concerned. In fact, I don't recall him even looking up to comment on my style. Another stylist (I'm assuming so since we were not introduced) asked me how I liked my haircut and I said "It's nothing to write home about." She smiled and that was the extent of her response.
When I was exiting the shop, my stylist wished me well and asked me to enjoy my vacation (of which we had spoken) and said he hoped to see me again soon. I told him I doubted I would be back. Weeks later, I visited a shop in Quincy. My barber commented on the unevenness of my hair and told me it would need to be reshaped and styled. Needless to say, I was quite happy when my barber finished his work. In Eclipse's defense, all new businesses need time to grow, but I am quite convinced this salon is growing in a disproportionately indifferent kind of way. Although my Eclipse stylist was friendly, I did not patronize the shop to make new friends. I would recommend trying salons or barber shops in Boston. If you are willing to except indifference from a salon, at least try one that has established itself as meriting such a privilege. I wish Eclipse luck in a community that is quite unforgiving and in a town that has taken more than a decade to allow a new restaurant back in (See AP and 88 Wharf). |

Jason, I'm sorry you were not pleased with your service. Any expirence (good or bad) is a reflection on the shop. I wish you had asked to see me, I would have seen to it that you were satified with your srevice. Thanks, David Thompson |

David has been my stylist for years, starting on Newbury Street. I have to say, now that I've figured out how to get to the Milton salon, I'm really glad he moved! Easy for me to get there, parking is never a problem, everyone is so welcoming and David always offers a glass of wine! Best of all, he is a great hair stylist and a wonderful, warm, loving person! I highly recommend Eclipse!

Eclipse offers a warm, professional, relaxing environment in Milton. Conveniently located down the hill from my home. I love the salon but the prices are way too high. I wish they would rethink the Newbury Street prices and consider this economy - these prices may force me to find another salon... and the spa prices are very overpriced! Love the staff! Just too expensive!
