Brackett was joined by Paul Rael, director of the Hispanic ministry at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Postville, and the Rev. David Vasquez, campus pastor of Luther College in nearby Decorah, in urging policymakers to halt what the religious leaders called inhumane and ineffective immigration raids and reform the nation's immigration laws.

That means amnesty!

Federal Immigration and Nationality Act
Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):

* assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or

Meanwhile people are pleading guilty to knowingly hiring, providing documents to the illegals. The State of Iowa imposed a 10 million dollar fine for child labor violations. The former CEO is in jail and the church thinks all was well in Postville? Ya right.

Evidently the illegal aliens affected by the raids still don't get the fact that there are consequences for breaking laws and the clergy is simply ratifying that belief. What do they plan to do for the American workers who no longer have jobs because of being displaced by illegal workers, layoffs, and company closings? Don't bother, I will answer that. They will not fight for the rights of an American worker because they are not considered the down trodden underdog. They think Americans, all, were born with money and should not need their help. The companies busted for hiring illegal workers, will bring in Somolians who can work legally and will accept less pay and no benefits, agree to live in the hovels they provide, rather than hire an American at a living wage. With food, rent and utilities spirling upward, it won't be long before those new hires will have no choice but to demand more from their employers. Many of the immigrants (refugees) broght in from other countries cannot find jobs either and the government benefits they have been promised are fast running out. These companies and our government have shot themselves in the foot so often, they no longer notice the bleeding.

QUOTE:"Vasquez, a native of Guatemala, the homeland of many of the workers arrested in the raid, said U.S. immigration policy instills fear and undermines the values of the American people."

The "ILLEGAL ALIENS" and their "ANCHOR BABIES" should live in constant fear. They do not deserve one moment of peace and happiness in this country. The enforcement of US Immigration Policy actually helps enforce the good values of the AMERICAN people. So suck it up and accept it you useless losers. These churches that continue to aid and abet these "ILLEGAL ALIENS" should have their tax exempt status revoked and the leaders and members who offer this support arrested and carried to trial.
