Illegal aliens are perpetrators too. The first thing that's broken about our immigration system is that enforcement isn't done at our nation's borders, promptly and completely. A community knowingly including illegal aliens is a community of criminals.

Mr. President.
Step up the raids and start jailing ALL who aid and abett.

Here's a hint: In three weeks go into both churches and remove the felons. Don't forget to charge the churches with aiding and abetting too.

Mr. President, ignore these demanding wimps. As long as illegals are using up free social services, over-crowding our schools and hospitals, the quality of life for legal Americans will be compromised. Middle America is shrinking, and we can't fill those coffers fast enough. These people weren't invited, they're not needed and the majority demands that they be shown the door...so, git 'er done.

Apparently Gutierrez is unable to learn from history. In 1986, more than 3 million illegal aliens were granted amnesty in a program riddled w/ fraud. This was to give them a chance at a better life and remove the ability of unscrupulous employers to keep them in horrible working conditions, in a form of slavery.

Unfortunately, the lack of real enforcement of our laws following this amnesty has resulted in more than 20 million illegal aliens facing the same horrific working conditions.

In 1986, the Democrats vowed that amnesty was a one time thing. Now they need to stick to that promise.

Many claim that Americans are unwilling to do the jobs that illegal aliens do - the fact of it is that illegal aliens depress wages in those jobs. Americans can see that only those living under fear will work in those horrible conditions for measly pay. By asking the FEds to NOT enforce the law, Gutierrez is enabling the employers to continue to keep the aliens in bondage. And if they do get amnesty? They'll quit those jobs, going to other industries where employers are more law abiding, driving down THOSE wages and leaving a void in their previous occupation for MORE illegal aliens.

The feds are investigating Agriprocessers for numerous work-place violations, as it should. But those violations would have been reported long ago had the workforce not been in a form of virtual slavery.

The depressed wages affect Latino Americans and Blacks more than the rest of America - so I have to wonder exactly who Gutierrez is representing. Certainly not the citizens in his jerry-mandered district, not the school-children in over-crowded classrooms because of the illegal students, and certainly not the sick who find their local hospitals cutting care to fund the unpaid bills of those here in violation of the law.

Mr. Gutierrez needs to remember that he was elected by US Citizens, and not illegal aliens.... oh wait. Perhaps ICE should do its November raids at the voting booths and see how many of Gutierrez's supporters can add "impersonating a US citizen" to their illegal entry and identity theft charges.

First off, I doubt the president is reading any of these comments. And I can't help but wonder how so many people think the illegals are using social services? Or over crowding the schools? First off the kids mostly were born here so they are legal! If an American goes in to apply for food stamps they have to show proof of everything. Why would the mexicans not have to do the same? I am not taking up for them - just pointing out that they would have to be legal to get food stamps, health care, and so on. Unless they go to the ER and just don't pay. And the majority of Americans with no ins. do the same thing. And FYI - osama has said if he goes in as president he is going to give ALL of them...billions of them...Amenesty (or how ever you spell it) So we won't have to worry about it.

There have been several. You would do good to do some looking around at anti-illegal alien sites.
There are many;ALIPAC and Save Our State are two of them.

All this talk about going after the illegal aliens, but so little about going after those who EMPLOY illegal aliens. Think for a minute, if you arrested the business owners to hire illegals, other business owners will notice and stop HIRING illegals. Without job, many of the illegals will go back and many more won't come period. But Bush hasn't done that because (surprise surprise) those leaders of industry donate to his campaign and they're donating to McSame's campaign too.

Democratic president Bill Clinton had more business owners arrested for hiring illegals in his worst year than Republican present George W Bush did in his best. And it was Republican Ronald Reagan who demanded amnesty for illegals in the first place to help his business buddies.

Face it, conservative leaders don't want to stop illegal immigration they like having a cheap source of expendable labor. No minimum wage. No safety regulations. No insurance. No respect. And if anyone complains, fire them without consequence.

If there were no illegal aliens in our schools, then there would be no need for the DREAM act - which would pave the way to citizenship for children brought here by their parents, and now graduating from public school.

Isn't it interesting that those who come on legal student visas have to pay to attend public schools (exchange students, etc) while those who come illegally don't have to pay - or even show a visa. More punishment for those who do it right. Methinks that's discriminatory.

Perhaps if we had not turned a blind eye to these massive violations of immigration, safety, child labor and other workplace laws, siting plants in these rural places would become economically unviable. Plant owners would be forced to move the plants closer to sources of legal unskilled workers.

Sure these are hard working folks, but in Rep. Guiterrez's own district as well as in much of our city, thousands go wanting for jobs. And these are 100% legal citizens. We have allowed unskilled job sources to move away from our inner cities and take advantage of a vulnerable illegal work source.

If we do not want meat packing plants in our metro area, perhaps we can facilitate the move of many of our city's poor to the areas where these jobs are located. I think that it is totally absurd that we have citizens begging in the streets of Chicago because there are no jobs while companies import illegal workers from outside of the U.S. Until every American has a job, we should not be tolerating the hiring of non-americans.

I am so tired of these "poor illegal immigrant" stories.
They bring filth, crime, disease and overcrowding like roaches. They abuse our welfare and health care systems, refuse to learn English and dare to demand we accept them.

SEND THEM ALL HOME. They can take there anchor brats with them
