I lived in Decatur, Illinois for 5 yrs. I have never in my life met such rude people. They do not help new people who come to town. No kind of welcome to our town. I have told all the people where I now live OUT OF ILLINOIS that Decatur is really bad and sucks!!!!! The only good part of it was Dr, Jones and the postal service. The restuarant were ok. Carlos O'Kellys was fantastic. The people there were great. Decatur sucks big time

Gotta agree with you, there. I moved from a city of more than 1.5 million to Decatur and was still shocked at the lack of personal advancement here. This place is stuck in the 70's and 80's. It's all about what you own, what you paid for it and where you got it. The prevailing attitude is if you're anything but Caucasian, you're not worth my time or breathing my air.

Decatur, GA is no better!

I just spent $560 dollars in traffic court; if I would have paid it online it would have only been $210. Thanks City of Decatur. Six spots to park in front of the court with meters that were all broken! No other public parking available except in the back of the police station where every spot had a sign posted saying "Park At Your Own Risk"! BEHIND THE POLICE STATION!

Move to the smaller towns that surround Decatur. I am 75 miles south but work up here. My town is perfect no crime everyone is friendly. When I moved in people came over talked and hung out. In Decatur people are afraid that their neighbor is going to shoot them. Lol. In my town I'd someone breaks in your neighbors are there for arms support. I love little hick towns.
