Why make this a race issue? God, can nothing be reported now without playing the "race card".
The fact is this guy broke the law and anyone, regardless to age, race, or if the act was wanted or unwanted, if they stray from the law deserves to be punished.
Stop making more out of this than what is really is about.
Now you have got to be kidding me. This is definately a case where the preferred race got a GOOD deal. You telling me a 17 year old has sex with a 15 year old and he gets 10 years intially..having served 2 before someone said."hey this is not how the law should have been interpreted". But the law was made to protect kids against adults...and this WHITE person gets 3 years out the box..AND was hit with more felonies than the black male who was a teen in his own right. YOU WHITE FOLKS LOVE GETTING MAD ABOUT THE RACE CARD THING. OWN UP TO IT AND REALIZE THAT THE AMERICAN JUSTICE SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK IN FAVOR OF JUSTICE..ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE BLACK.

STjohns - That was really sad of you to say. His church has nothing to do with this, His family has nothing to do with this. I hope you are living up to your own standards of judgement, because it comes quickly. If you knew Darryl like you say you do, you know that he had every type of person around him. Old to young, you will not build a case against him with that stuff. The name you picked for this even makes it more sad. He didn't trick noone, but whatever happen between him and this boy. Darryl was Darryl. Everyone knew that. I just once again warn becareful of the stone you throw, a brick will be coming your way. Don't rejoice in someones down fall. Weakness and short comings for great men are hard to fight. The funny thing is that if this was happening anyone of us, Darryl would be defending us to the end.
I appreciate you and your comments on Pastor Darryl. Yes, he is a wonderful man to all that know and love him. I met Darryl and his family through my marriage and a new member at the church he attended. He had been a major part of that family for years. To anyone, Darryl was a likeable person. He was the same every time you saw him, unlike most. I can't think of a time that he changed, not one. He loved to laugh and joke around, but when it came to God and the annointing,he was serious. God has granted him soo many talents as a musician, preacher, director, singer, teacher and a friend to most anyone who came in contact with him. Yes, Darryl loved children and they loved him for years & years. He has had so much contact with children, whether it was supervising during the youth convention (thru the night for a whole week), driving the kid(s) to functions, church, etc. and teaching at a school in Athens. This all has gone on for years and not once have I ever heard of him being accused of such. Why now, after so much contact with so many children, why now? Not to mention a 15yo. 15yo are not regular sized 15yo like when I was growing up, we looked 15. Now they look like grown men and can fight like one to. However, I don't want to imply that he did not do this, for the alleged victim's sake. I do respect their feelings, pray for their complete healing and that God will avenge them. However, the bible states for us to "talk that you know and testify to that which you have seen". No, as far as the incident I cannot talk nor testify about it, but as far as Darryl, I can. Regardless, he is a great person and that's putting it lightly. I can't tell you the extreme of a great man he is. He adores his two girls and his wife. He would speak words of life into his daughters and tell them who they were so they would not look for it from another man because they daddy had already told them. Just in case he did perform these said acts, I will stick with a couple of scriptures being: prov 24:16 "For a just man falleth seven times and riseth up again; but the wicked shall fall into mischief" and Matt 18:21,22 "Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven." May the peace of God be with you, resting, ruling and abiding in you all. Until then mind the words that you speak about this man, for the bible also states, regardless of what you may think, it states "Touch not mine annointed and do my prophet no harm" Just as Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses, their brother and leader, because they had their own thoughts and views, God spew leprosy upon Miriam. So a word for the wise, just be mindful! God is the Chief shepherd and the Ultimate judge, let's all remember that!

Pastor Darryl is STILL an awesome man of God. We have all fallen short in one way or another. Some of you who have appointed yourselves judges have been guilty of sin yourselves, maybe not in the court of law. Remember, sin is sin, there is no degree.

"I later went to the church in Jax., FL to warn the people there. Some of the people believed me "because there had already been some talk". That was in the mid 90's, Then he quickly married. He was "ordered" to marry to control his urges."

Looks like making him marry didn't solve the problem.

"Gilyard has an amazing gift to preach the gospel. He brings the
words to color with his way of speaking and explaining. I believe
the devil took a very strong, man of God & just had his way with him. I pray for the Gilyard family and for Daryl."

This made me lol hard. The devil had his way with him, yes, the devil made him try to rape those women and molest that underage girl. Not him! Religion makes me sick with how much people use it to excuse themselves and garner sympathy. You guys fight to control the sexualities of others when you can't even control those of your own church members.

And you guys hate on gay people so much and use the Bible to back everything without even thinking about the ignorant rednecks who also used the same book to try to keep schools and public places segregated and keep blacks and whites from getting married all out of personal hatreds and some crazy notion that allowing mixed marriages would "unravel the fabric of society." They used the same dehumanizing crap to demonize you folks as the gay haters use now. Back then they told their kids crap like "All blacks want to rape white girls." Now they tell them "All gay people molest."

I'm confused as to why any self-respecting black person would willingly follow a religion which sanctions slavery: Exodus 21 20-21, 1st Peter 2:18, Exodus 21: 32, Leviticus 25 44-46. These verses were used by the same lave owners who beat your ancestors, so it really makes me giggle when a black Christian turns around and uses that same book to attack another minority group.

"Well it's not the same. Gays didn't go through the same stuff we did" The violence perpetrated against gays is no less cruel and brutal than any violence perpetrated against blacks by any Klantard or Skinhead. And sure, gays have stealth but that's about the only thing they have going for them. Of course you can't magically turn off your skin color and pretend to be like everyone else in the room. But if you could, would you? SHOULD you have to? No, because that would be unfair. It's unfair for ANYONE to have to fake who they are just to keep from being murdered by their friends or disowned by their families.

People have the right to be "openly black." Gays should be afforded the same rights. And as for marriage, if you do research you'll see it existed long before Christianity and it does not require a church. If marriage is purely religious, why can straight atheist couples marry freely? And procreation? Hey, elderly infertile couples get married, too. I don't see any Prop 9's or whatever to stop them.

It was a time when I did'nt want wicked people and unsaved people to burn I thought the punishment was [too] hard. But I repented on the fact that God made his judgements and for the wicked to be cast into hell; then who am I to think otherwise, as the people and the prophet's of old repeated "God laws are just" so then I would be in sin not be in agreement with God's laws are his punishment for the wicked."

Deut. 13, 13-19 says "If you find out some people living in one of the towns God has 'given' to you are worshiping other gods, you must set every person, young or old, and every beast and all the property on fire and never allow that town to be rebuilt." - Jeremiah 48:10 says "Cursed be he who does the Lords work remissly, cursed he who holds back his sword from blood." So even extremists like the Westboro Baptist Church are still doing a half-arse job of "doing God's will," they should be out there with torches and swords, not silly signs and parody songs.

Y'all should be out there killin' all the Matthew Shepards you can and make the streets run red with blood for your invisible man.
Oh and as for the little girl, how come nobody asked Darrell to pay her poppa 50 shekels of silver and permanently marry her?:

Deuteronomy Chapter 22, verses 28-29: If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.
