Dr. Dorvilus was treating me in CT and I just found out that he has left the state, without notice. He is in the middle of treating me for a severe disease and question how any doctor, in good conscience, can leave his patients without any notice. I have been calling his office for weeks and leaving messages. I have been told that he is "away" but would call me back. He has no called back.
Today, I had terrible complications from this disease and the medication he was treating me with. I called his office and had not luck. Only after I became frustrated with the receptionist did she tell me she thinks he went to Georgia and that he would not be seeing his patients in CT any longer. My only option now is to go to the ER, as I do not have another GI at this point. This seems strange, so proceed with caution.

Dr.Dorvilus excellent doctor- caring, and smart. Yale trained, Columbia University trained
Sorry to see him go.
He gave notice, but I missed it.
ECHN began hiring doctors and poor guy just could not compete- with his still new practice.
I trust him.- he would not have left if circumstances were different.

He is missed

Dr . Dorvilus had to leave CT due to family reasons- we are truly very sorry that you did not hear about it.
Dr Dorvilus cares deeply for all the patients he has treated- and he tried to notify the patients.
He posted a letter in the mail and in the local paper.
He is very sorry that you did not receive any notice.
He will be happy to help you find a new doctor in CT.

I vaguely remember exact details, but his exit wasn't convenient and completely out of character. There was a notification sent advising patients where their records could be picked up. However, there was a fee for the copies I thought was tacky.

All in all, he was a very good and compassionate doctor. As a result of this compassion, he frequently ran late. During difficult periods, I know my appointments exceeded the scheduled times. Of course, when you're in the waiting room, this is not what you're thinking about. I really miss him.

He also had a great staff, especially one very loyal woman who handled those weary calls with calm efficiency, as she faced unemployment.
