Home ownership is a reward for those that are responsible in their life and finances. Just as voting was formerly reserved for home and business owners who proved to be responsible, so should home purchasing. Isn't approving non-qualified persons what caused the bankruptcy of this country? Handouts and bailouts CLEARLY don't work and do much more harm than good. I'm thankful I'm not a homeowner in Dekalb that allows failures to move in next door to me at almost zero cost to them.

I THINK THE STATEMENT THAT "CONCERNED HOME OWNER" MADE WAS VERY IGNORANT AND SELFISH!!!! JUST BECAUSE YOU CHOOSE TO WORK LIKE A DOG FOR A FEW PENNIES IS NOBODIES FAULT BUT YOURS! WHY NOT GIVE SOMEONE THE OPPORTUNITY AT HOMEOWNERSHIP? I MEAN I WOULD RATHER HAVE SOMEONE TO MOVE IN NEXT DOOR TO ME AT A LITTLE OR ZERO INSTEAD OF HAVING AN ABANDOND BUILDING THAT IS BOARDED UP, RODENT INVFESTED, AND PROBABLY A SAFE HAVEN FOR SOME PEDIFILE. I MEAN BE REAL THIS WHOLE MOVEMENT IS TO BRING THE ECONOMY UP NOT DOWN.HOW COULD SOMEONE MOVING INTO A HOUSE FOR LITTLE OR NO MONEY BUT, PAYING THEIR TAXES AND MAINTAINING THEIR PROPERTY EVER CAUSE AN ECONOMIC HARDSHIP. IT'S PEOPLE LIKE YOU THATS CAUSES AN ECONOMIC HARDSHIP CAUSE YOU WANT TO BLOCK THE PART OF THE WORLD OUT THAT DON'T HAVE AS MUCH MONEY AS YOU DO!!!! YOU SHOULD PRAY ABOUT THE WAY YOU FEEL BECAUSE ITS A LOT OF SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE THAT ARE DOWN AND ITS NOT THEI FAULT. WE ARE STILL TRYING TO OVERCOME A RECESSION WHERE PLENTY OF LOST JOBS AND HOMES BY NO FAULT OF THERE OWN.

Thanks for proving my point Citizen of America. When you excel past that of a 3rd grader with your grammar skills then get back to this adult conversation, until then, KEEP RENTING.

Funny how you both (Concerned Home Owner & Priceless)chose to address Citizen's grammar and totally ignore his/her arguments. For people who clearly perceive themselves to be intellectually superior, why not counter Citizen's arguments for the campaign and leave the ad hominem approach to those incapable of mature and constructive dialogue. Communication is successful not because it adheres strictly to the conventional standards but because all parties understand the speaker's message. Your posts make me wonder how much issues of race and class sit at the heart of your objection to Dekalb's campaign?...Attacking each other when we disagree...easy; engaging in truly adult conversation to share our opinions...priceless.
