there is a girl there named latoya that is so very good. I've visited the salon a few times in past years (not recently) and I watched her do natural hair whether straightening or natural style. She is excellent no matter the length of hair. she is so good that she is usually booked two weeks in advance so i've not gotten a chance to see her yet because i didn't have the time to wait that long because of events that were going on for which i needed my hair done right away. My next hair style must be done by her though. Must

OMG, Kristen u really hit it on the head in your letter. I have been going to Latoya for 3 yrs now, and she is a blessing in the sky to me. When I moved down here in 06’ I was in the transition of going natural and couldn’t find someone who cares for natural hair. I been to 3 different people to do my hair, and the attitude they had on my head was not something I was willingly going to pay for. So when I met Latoya she really opens my eyes to a different meaning of natural hair. She is so giving and honest when it comes to the hair, she knows what she is talking about. My hair is so healthy and now it is in the middle of my back from the care of Latoya. Now I go every week, and look forward to going to see her every Thursday. Let’s just say she has those growing hands.

Hi,
How do I describe Abbott Salon? Three words:“Simply the Best”. Latoya Brown who specializes in natural hair is my personal stylist. She is one of Atlanta's best natural hair specialists. For you ladies who are trying to grow out your perm or simply already have natural hair, she should be your stylist also. I have been going to Latoya for around 7 months when I decided that I was finally giving up the “chemicals” and going all natural. I am extremely happy with the transition from chemical to natural. But what is truly more amazing is the styles that Latoya is able to accomplish with natural hair. She can “straighten" your hair so well that you will ask yourself: why did I ever put chemicals in my hair in the fist place?
Latoya also does braids, locs, twists, and custom wigs. Yes, there is some wait time (like with any great stylist); but I enjoy myself so much at Abbott that I truly don’t mind the wait. Why? you might ask -- because of the other two ladies at Abbott. They are Erica and Montrice. Erica and Montrice can set a style like nobody's business. I have seen these women perform what I can only describe as “acts of miracles.” Let be honest; we all know what we can go in looking like after a hard week at home and work. But once you get out of the chair of one of these three ladies, not only do you look like a beautiful woman, but you also feel like a new beautiful woman that can take on the world and look great while doing it. I truly enjoy the uplifting conversation and the feeling of sisterhood that I get at this salon. There is no tension between the stylists and the clients; just a come together and enjoying ourselves, with good conversation and good friends (you see them every two weeks or so). The only thing missing is a nice cup of teaJ.
So, give them a call or just go by to experience one of the best kept secret in Atlanta: Abbott Salon off Covington Highway.

Ms Brenda---
You have described the salon to perfection.
I have been going to Abbott's for 7+ years, and LaToya has always been my main hairstylist as well.
Being natual has been the most innovative experience for me. She has put together styles that one would only think could be done on chemically relaxed hair. What I love the most is that she has client specific signature hair styles, personality, and from time to time--"natural" hair care courses.
I enjoy the versality of natural hair. LaToya has done wonders with my hair, as well as my two young daughters (age 8 and 7)
She is so knowledgeable with her skill that she can be booked out as far as a month. So I have made a standing appointment each week. But trust me, she is well worth the wait.

Hello All! I must agree with you. Latoya Jones Brown is the BEST! When it comes to outstanding natural hair care...she is top notch. I have been a client for 8 yrs. I love the versatility (hair styles)that she has shown me over the years. I am never afraid to try something new. I can show her picture and Wah La! it's done. I never thought that I would see my hair healthy again after going through so much with perms. I've also learned a lot from her about at home hair care as well...which is a plus when you get a crunch and have to do it on your own. Too many hairstylist in this day do not continue to learn after they get their license. I can say that Latoya is a sponge and loves to learn new techniques to make her craft better. She researches products that are good for natural hair and shares them with us. I could go on and on about Latoya. I will sum it up by saying please go and check her out. You will not regret it. Welcome to the wonderful world of natural healthy hair!!!!

Latoya Brown has been my stylist for almost 2 years now. I was referred by a long time client (Hi Astii). I was leary because I have never found a a stylist that was big on "natural hair care". There are many natural stylists out there, but Latoya truly takes care of my hair. My hair has been natural for over 15 years, but it has never been healthier than it is now. Latoya does her research and only uses the best products on her clients, but only after trying it for herself (and often, on herself). After 15 years of being natural, I thought I had tried all possible styles that fit my personality, but Latoya has "wowed" me with new and innovative styles, and she's always willing to try something new. Several of my new favorite styles I would never have thought could be done on natural hair.
Outside of her professional expertise, Latoya is just a great person. She truly cares about her clients, not just their hair. When you are in the salon, it is a warm and comfortable environment where girlfriends get together for hair-dos, good conversation and lots of laughs. When you leave the salon, you look and feel great. Go check out Latoya if you're natural. You will be amazed!
Ericka and Montrese are also great if you wear relaxed hair.

I must say I have to agree with the fan club. I remember back when I came to Toya about 8 years ago and all can say i was a mess hair wise. I was taking advantage of by a stylist. i remember one time combing thru my hair after recieving a perm from the salon and there was a patch missing when i told the stylist that there was a patch missing from the back of my head he told me i pulled on it too hard. I was done. A good friend at the time led me to Latoya Brown. Thank You Jesus!!! Not only did i recieve i stylist I could regain trust in but she also showed me how to go natural !! Give a clap for a sister.

I have been going to Toya for over 6 years. Even when I moved to Jacksonville Fl I would drive up here and have Toya style my hair. She is an amazing talent and honestly her prices don't match her talent level...let's keep that a secret!

Yes Latoya Brown of Brown Sugar LLC at Abbott Salon is awesome! Not only is she a God Fearing Woman but she is beautiful too. When you first meet her her smile lights up the room and makes you feel welcomed. I don't anything about natural hairstyle but she specialize in helping you with that. I am transitioning from perm to natural and she pick a perfect hairstyle for me. She did the flat twist on me and told me to take it out the next day and I had these beautiful curls. I finally found a hairstylist that I can connect with and she is the queen here in Atlanta. I would recommend this woman for you. Latoya Brown.

Words can not express my experience with Latoya Brown. I felt very welcomed as soon as I walked in the Salon! Her assistant was very pleasant in assisting me with the most convenient hairstyle for my busy schedule. I didn't have to show Latoya any pictures from a magazine; just from me describing the look I was trying to achieve she consulted with me and suggested the best look and how to maintain it thereafter.Once my "NEW" look was complete and she handed me the mirror, I was almost in tears because she gave me a look that I thought I would never be able to achieve. Just instant "magic"!!! I drive from Alpharetta every two weeks and its worth it!! I would recommend Latoya Brown to anyone who is looking for that ultimate transformation!

I found LaToya at Bangz and Tanglez in January 2013 and it was all God's hand. I was set up with two other stylists but when the second young lady saw that I was natural, I got a seat with Ms. LaToya and it was more than a new client meeting a new stylist. Everything that has been posted is true. She is a God-send. Her spirit is so full and her knowledge of hair care is above excellent. I left in tears because of what she spoke in my life. I have told all my friends about her (even though they have perms! LOL!) An incredible find!
