What you're asking is should a person be prosecuted for breaking an EXISTING law if they don't feel it's right. If traffic is light, you should be able to drive 90 on the interstate. If no traffic is coming,it's ok to run that stop sign. If you're hungry and have no money,it's ok to steal food from a store. Is this what you're asking?

Hell No! 30 grams is only 2 grams over an ounce! No one should go to any prison for possession of marijuana Period! Who cares if it is illegal- it used to be illegal for women to vote too! Also small amounts are supposed to already be decriminalized in most states (and depending how often you smoke or how much you smoke at a time, a ounce could be considered a small amount for some smokers). I have been a hard working, tax paying citizen since I have been legal age to work & have worked in the medical field for at least 20yrs & if I choose to spend my hard earned money on any amount of marijuana- that's my business & my constitutional right (life, liberty and the persuit of happiness) Not the "law" or any employers. Not smoking when I get off work or on my days off (as many people have a drink at those times) interferes with my productivity, patience etc. Also, having worked in the medical field for so long & knowing the increase in drug testing in not only the work place but also for schools- I believe is what is a primary cause for the increase of prescription drug abuse &/or addiction. You can't get a prescription for marijuana in most states as you can prescriptions. Also most prescriptions do not stay in your system as long as marijuana does. The crack down on prescription drugs (controlled ones mainly) is also a huge problem not only for patients that need those meds but pharmacies and doctors that can not properly treat patients for fear of loosing the career they have went to school and worked years for. That is a whole other discussion- bottom line the "laws" are the main problem. The "laws" only help the biggest criminals of all- the american judicial & prison systems as well as mexican cartels.

Your productivity and patience depend on you being high? You should really seek help for your addiction. "Laws" are the main problem? Only for criminals! Our prisons are full of people from all walks of life who decided to do as they please and not to follow EXISTING laws . Our society is not a spectator sport. If you want change, stay straight long enough to get out and get laws changed. A long rap sheet doesn't influence anyone when your talking reform.
