I just went through the very same situation at a Company (seemed like an Occult actually) located in Tucker. I was the only His Panic at this Company and I was there a little over a year. I always did all my duties, my first year there I never called in or came in late (rarely took personal days off etc), I was a good little "subordinate" and always did 100% on my production. One day, I gave the so called "Controller" of the Company an order with a co worker name slightly spelled different and he asked me why I called my co-worker "lasha" instead of "lashawn" since that wasn't her name. I told him it was a nickname I came up for her and she didn't care. He also around the same time told me it was offensive to black americans for me to say "Otay" instead of "Okay" because of how "they" tried portraying buckwheat on the little rascals. I thought that was crazy being that I am Afro-Latina and also because I never have gotten that impression from buckwheat and I told him I didn't see buckwheat in that way and most black people didn't neither since I know more than a handful who loveeeeee buckwheat. I told him I thought without buckwheat that show would of been wack and boring as hell. So, Months went by...

For a few months now, I started noticing how he would call this Scottish Republican (to be as detailed for the imagination) "Hector". It was starting to irritate me so I asked him why he called him that and he said because this His panic dude that use to work there and got fired for sexual harassment use to call him that and because in spanish his name would mean "Hector". I am His Panic and never heard of that but I said OK. I asked a few people there who also been working for the company a while, out of curiosity, did they know anything about this and they said they knew the guy but never heard him call him that. So finally, when I was like he have some nerve being hypocritical as hell since he asked me why I called someone a nickname and he was doing exactly the same I decided (after reading the employee handbook about open door policy because I KNEW he was arrogant enough and miserable ah to just fire me) I expressed to him my concern and if he could seize calling him "Hector" in front of me I would love that for consideration. I had send the email to him but he fwd it to the Scottish dude who interrupted me (while I was talking to someone) very visibly upset and shaking and asked me angrily what was this about and he actually said "it's not like where the KKK here in sheets". I told him it had nothing to do with him and once he understood that I guess he was OK. I seen him go down and talk to the owner of the Company then he (the owner) called me down to his office. The owner told me "this environment isn't for you and you have two weeks to find something else". I asked him why am I being terminated and he said he couldn't terminate me because I performed my job good but that I am a employee at will and it was time for me to go. I told him the open door policy stated steps would be taken but it just resulted in me getting fired.

If this isn't White Supremacy, what would you whites who just so damn arrogant you would be damn to admit WRONG IS WRONG (Bottom line)call this action that was taken against me?? I was a exceptional Employee and all it would of took is him just not saying it and that could of been that. It didn't have to cost me my job when every 4 weeks we have to pay to live.

Welcome to employment in the US. This crap happens to anyone of any race. The moment you draw yourself into some kind of personality conflict, you're number is up and your pink slip is already in the works. It may not happen instantly, but it will happen.

With the current job market employers don't NEED you. They already have applications from a hundred other versions of you sitting in a drawer. If you give them even the slightest hint that you MIGHT be a troublemaker, whiner or any other thing that can impact work, out you go.

He was right, the environment wasn't right for you and you expressed it clearly. Calling it "white supremacy" only proves you had a preconceived notion before you walked in. It's not a white supremacy issue at all, it's a greedy employer issue. It's also an employer who doesn't give a crap about anybody issue. I guarantee you they do plenty of this same crap to white people who fail to keep themselves out of controversy or run off at the mouth like you clearly did.

Employers only want quiet little drones to do their job and shut the he|| up. If you can't do that, they will find someone who can. Does it suck? Sure. But that's been the way it is for decades and the recession only made it worse. Welcome to reality.

I got laid off once for asking a supervisor if I could do more work to get more hours. I learned later that asking that made him think I would soon be looking for another job. It wasn't true, but that didn't matter. I was still kicked to the curb. By a white guy. Was that white supremacy too?

Your supremacy claim might have some merit if more non-white employers hired more white people. Think about that. The main reason it seems like more white people are employers is simply because there are more white people, not because they are supremacists.

Also, the very term "White Supremacist" is not something white people created or use to self identify. That should be another clue.

Hmmmm, wait a minute. Are Roswell Government jobs at-will? Pretty uncomfortable for an employee who speaks his/her mind. Employees should be able to do their jobs without worrying that they may go home without a job one day for something petty. Some supervisor could come in to work one day after a fight with the spouse and just want to feel powerful. Firing a helpless employee might seem like a cure for what ails him/her.

Seems like after a probationary period an employee should have some rights and security. Losing a job is nothing to scoff at a person about with "hey, you're the racist, not your boss." Haven't you heard jobs aren't plentiful?

I live in the heart of race card central. It's used for everything from parking spaces to children's grades. The only job security any of us has is under our hat. Employers have ZERO loyalty and it's not a race issue at all. They have become like this because of corporate greed. There is no such thing as a social contract anymore. Even "public" jobs are losing their "security" and unions are fading fast.

I was only expressing the tough reality we have in this part of the country (though I saw the same thing in New York as well). Pulling the race card over losing a job is trite. This person had a preconceived notion going in. That alone probably set her up to fail. I guarantee that anyone LOOKING for a boogeyman will likely find one.

I do believe I was wrongfully terminated but I have not pursued a lawsuit just based on everyone telling me about Me being an employee at will. I'm not sure if I was or was not Sensitive(I dont think I was) but I just honestly said something because I felt that it was just inappropriate at the work location.
Thanks for your question.

Wow, someone that was the only His panic at a Company expresses a concern (not even a Complaint, which it should of been) about Anglos (Republican Anglos might I add) using National Origin accents and gestures and I am the one "pulling the race card". LOL WOW, like certain laws didn't have to be enforced to create Racial Equality in this Country.

Yea, good luck with that. They called a lawyer before they canned you. They always do. People who think losing a job means they won the lottery are a joke. You need to move on. I guarantee this will happen again. Employers have ALL of the cards now and they are playing to win, not to benefit YOU (or me or anyone else).

It's a shame, but it's reality today. I don't blame Obama because this was put into motion in the 60s. Obama is just doing his part to help it along just like Bush did, Just like Carter did and just like Reagan did. It's an apolitical issue.

It will become political if there's a crash on Obama's watch though. But that's OK, democrats are masters at deflecting. Nothing is EVER their fault. Again, you're just a victim of greed and apathy. They want dumb workers who don't make waves. You made a wave, so you must be too smart for them. Go find a better job. You'll be happier.

I was wrongly fired from a job, given a handsome severance pay, told them they would regret it. I started my own company in competition with that company with my 9 employees. The company hired and fired 3 employees in one year trying to replace me. I had been in that same territory for 23 years and I took all their business away from them. The customers were mine, not the company that fired me. They tried to rehire me and I told them I never worked for anyone I couldn't trust, and I sure wouldn't work for the pittance they offered. The company went to pot, and the guys that fired me were fired, one even asked if he could work for me. You can guess what I told him. I am still smiling and now just manage my farms.

I do agree they contacted a lawyer being that He said I can try to do whatever I want to do because they are clean as a whistle. I didn't necessarily think (or think others) will "win the lottery, being that getting fired for no reason at all is a blow especially when you really almost do PAY to LIVE, you know? But Thank you, I agree I will 100 percent find better also.

No. You can report it otherwise. What about sexual harassessment. Are you saying there's no way to report discrimination at the work place. Do u get out much? All that went on without action being taken in the olden days but shouldn't continue. And I know I spelled harrassement wrong. It is underlined in red and I don't choose to look it up right now.

There's all kinds of harrassment in workplaces. Sexual crap is actually pretty easy to prosecute, just get evidence (like one of those keychain video cameras). A true sexual harrasser has a finite life in most work environments because the employer doesn't need the publicity it brings.

But what about racial harrassment? Is that easy to prove? Probably not most of the time. I worked in a factory where the production lead made the mistake of saying out loud that he was planning to run every one of the white boys out of the place. A whole shift of people heard it and he was gone a matter of days later. But only because so many people heard it and complained. I didn't because I knew plenty of other shop whiners would never stop talking about it. I was there on a temporary assignment and didn't care about the local politics, racial or not.

I've had supervisors try to blackmail me with all kinds of crap. Usually threatening my job if I didn't act some way they wanted or help them cover up for one of their buddies. Setting up a creep like that can be pretty easy. Going on the offensive often times means the job is over either way. But getting even can be so rewarding too.
