I am greatly saddened by all the comments going back and forth and the defamation of character by those who really have no idea. I have dealt with Lifestyles and have entrusted my home to them. They all were an outstanding, professional and ethical team. I will gladly seek out their services again in the future. I had an opportunity to invest also, and decided it was not for me. Guess what, all those investors did so of their own free will. Dredging up an accident that happened years ago is so ridiculous and has absolutely nothing to do with the issue today. It happened, get over it. These guys are all have families, work and contribute in this community. They have built up a successful real estate business. What real estate professional or business is not hurting after the last few years of this economy. The full story will come out.

If you really want to talk about an investment fund gone bad, and all the people screwed by the deceptive lies look no further than Orbis and Omni

Typical real estate agent. They are just like used car salesman that rip everyone off!! Been ripped off before for $150,000 that we loaned someone and now he is getting "Carma"! Good luck to you scam artists because carma does come around! Hope they get paybacks! I don't trust anyone anymore after being ripped off to try and help someone get a house so they wouldn't be on the streets with their kids!

FYI: They started this business with their rich parents money not their own. "They are spoon fed"

About time people have an avenue to vent there feelings about shady crooks. ANYBODY that can look you in the eye and guarantee anything are up to no good. this is a case of... i got some money and now I'm starting to loose it.. but I have this great deal that can make us both rich again....but really just me (but I won't tell you that) deal. Sales is all about smooth talking.... always has been.... it's a dirty ass profession.

The word DOUCHEBAG comes to mind when reading about this. Greed never prevails. in the end the course of your work and dealings will kick you in the butt. Regardless of what you've been through those involved can NOT look in the mirror and say "I never lied...I never misled my client... I never did anything like lie or steal to make my life or situation better". Now THAT is a guarantee!

You're not alone, and my guess is that Omni and Orbis will be front page news soon. Omni has deception and fraud written all over it. It's about 5 times the size of this fund and has numerous local families facing financial ruin. It was sold as a fund that was only loaning at a 50% loan to value, and only loaning in first position. Looking at the books reveals another reality. Time will tell.

True. I smell the greedy lawyers circling the carcass already. They will end up with all the money. They are the real masterminds who will laugh all the way to the bank after they got everyone fighting with each other. So caught up in their emotions they won't even realize they've been played until it's all gone.

Because they write the law in such a way as to ensure job security off the rest of us.

Oh yeah and I don't hate all attorneys. Just the slimy ones. You know the type that smear people by name and harass them in public forums. Yeah, that kind.

This post is absolutely untrue. How can you post things that are made up? Oh ya..I guess anyone can make up stuff and once it's out there, it's thought of as fact. Get your facts right before you add to the lies.
This was a terrible accident, nothing more. No one was sued, and a broken back that will ache for a whole life was a horrible punishment. Also no one lost an eye..Where do these stories come from?
Lydia...FYI..yes, there actually is/was a lawsuit over this...the case information can be found on the Santa Cruz Court website.

If it is any consolation to the real estate "professionals", the general public has never held you in high regard and quite the contrary, pretty much in the league of the proverbial used car salesman. Your industry is likely culpable in the real estate crash by selling people houses you knew they could never afford and criminal collusion with loan agents who are equally shady and shamelessly wrote loans that should never have been written was rampant.

It is really high time to bring a higher standard to the real estate industry like say a college degree at a minimum so there is not the rapid in and out flux of bad players who jump into real estate when it is hot and commit fraud to make a quick buck. I find it ironic that you mention Macy's and Home Depot as alternative employment as this is about all most real estate "professionals" are qualifed to do albeit "self-checkout" is often more intelligent then the clerks who hang out nearby.

Boone (of Sherman & Boone) led the Omni fund down the drain. From an insider who said "there's nothing left" of highrises in San Diego to golf courses in Chowchilla. Drinking the koolaid of Scam-erica. Sorry to add to your misery but these realtor scammers have to go....

If you want to invest in Costa Rica do it with someone who has been doing it for at least 20 years and has a solid track record. My choice is Nosara Real Estate. They have been making people money for 20 years! The owner is from Santa Cruz as well.
