I previously had reported that an Atlanta company Equifax, was selling consumer information even though the consumer had opted out. I even filed a report with the BBB which has now been accused of selling ratings for money. they have given a terrorist group an "A" rating. Equifax denied they had received an opt out request even though they had and the BBB did not want to see my written confirmation of that request. Well guess what, these creeps who in my opinion have morals only slightly lower than those of jeffrey skilling and ken lay have been caught. Equifax and the companies they sold information to have agreed to settle for 1.6 million dollars and Equifax is to forfeit profits from their illegal activity. I believe that no tolerance should be allowed for further illegal activity. Further illegal activity should result in criminal charges and time in prison. Why this country tolerates criminal activities from bottom feeders as this is beyond me. As for myself, there will be no future tolerance of any illegal activity.
