this would be a way to get rid of all the inbreeding of registered horses. These in bread horses are usually the ones auctions by from breeders, drug them and lie to people about what wonderful animals they are to sell for pleasure riding with a end result in injuries due the fact they are crazy as hell.

Blackfeet Indians in Montana rely upon horses raised for slaughter as a source of income. They ship them into Canada for slaughter because they don't have a local slaughter house near their reservation. So much for the Indians love of horses. BTW, horse meat is consumed by humans in Canada.

Well at least he doesn't bash the TRUE SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN REAL NATIVE AMERICANS AKA WHITE PEOPLE like you do. I'm thinking since it has now been proven that Caucasians were the first people in North America, where the REAL NATIVE AMERICANS genocided by the so-called "Native Americans." That would throw a wrench in all those anti-White leftist kooks propaganda about how the Whites took over the so-called "Native American's" land.

Hmm, would be horrible for the community. bring down housing values, bring in the criminal element and it would smell like hell. Who wants to live by that? It's also not ok to feed toxic horse meat to people, especially children. This just is Not going to happen.

We cannot afford to inspect meat for another country. After cuts of $54 million in 2010,$34 million in 2011 and another $9 million in 2012 to the USDA, they are understaffed and overworked. We do not even have enough taxpayer funds to inspect the food our country eats here! Get real people.

No to horse slaughter anywhere, period! This is a horrible, in humane way to die. Horsemeat is toxic with all the wormers & bute they are given while they are "wanted". This just makes me sick!

I totally agree with you! No horse deserves to die from slaughter. There is no humane way to slaughter a horse and due to the fact Americans use all types of toxic chemicals on our horses, they should NOT be processed for humane consumption. Heck, I wouldn't even feed my dogs horse meat due to this!

There are "kosher slaughterhouses" in America people. Research for yourself this absolutely brutal way of slaughtering livestock. Also look on all your food items for a K symbol and even on non-food products which deems the item as "kosher." Do you have any idea how much extra this costs you as a consumer to have your grocery products blessed by the rabbi. Go ahead and check out how many items in your household have this symbol on them. Why are we as a predominately Christian nation allowing animals to be brutalized in some barbaric way just because a small minority wish it to be done and why are we paying extra to have our food and non-food items deemed "kosher."

What really needs to be considered in this issue is the serious risk to human health that is contained in commercially slaughtered horse meat. The levels of adrenaline and cortisol produced by equines are far, far greater than any legal levels found in any other meat harvested for human consumption. Horses are specifically bred for adrenaline production, not for human consumption.
That is why this rogue "industry" always operates under cursory regulation, if they can find it, with the majority of the meat going to foreign countries. It is literally impossible to make commercial horse slaughter humane.
The fatally flawed head-shot kill method (severe head trauma) used in all commercial horse slaughter ensures that all of the adrenaline and cortisol that can possibly be produced by the animal is delivered throughout the flesh post shot. This is evidenced to any layman by the pulsing of the animal. In commercial beef production they call this “dark cutting” and the meat is not (supposed to be) legally approved for human consumption by the USDA. Adrenaline and cortisol consumption by humans causes Colorectal and other forms of cancer.

Less than 1% of the horse population goes to slaughter and it costs much more than slaughter value to raise a horse to slaughter weight, so how does that make sense???
