Police say suspect used knife to scare drivers in carjackings

New information has been released about a series of carjackings Tuesday that ended when the suspect was shot and killed by Orange City police.

The officer acted quickly in the best of publics interest. It was an emergency situation, and nothing short of amazing that there were not multiple injuries or deaths involved.

The fact that the suspect was apparently very mentally unbalanced, based on his actions at the university, is regretful but immaterial to the actions which needed to be taken to stop his rampage, and were, by this officer. He should be commended.

To the family and friends of the suspect, I'm sorry for your loss,and for whatever led your loved one to where he was and what he did. But there were zero other options.
