As of the current date, this situation has not changed at all. If anything, it is worse. Management makes very arbitrary rules that are therapist-unfriendly on an almost daily basis.

They have 2 great therapists there, but you have to deal with the incredibly incompetent front offce staff. Unprofessional, lie, can't place a reminder call to save their lives, gossip, and eat in front of clients. Sheets feel like sandpaper, walls paper thin, pray they don't leave you waiting in the relax room, lousy window coverings, its Texas spend some money on real window treatments so clients don't feel as if they will burst into flames. I switched from MASSAGE HEIGHTS after 2 satisfied years Massage Green because its a closer drive, the only thing "green" is all your money they find ways to steal, use a Walmart card, don't give them a real account.... 3 months and im.done, out, CANCELLED!! Run as fast as you can....

A terrible place to work. They work you to the bone for little pay, make you work on your "down time" without being paid, no incentives...the list could go on forever. Massage Green made it so i HATED coming to work. So glad I left!!

Yep, its me again. I think we all forget to tout the good. So heres my update. Since Walter arrived at Massage Green, as the manager, I was lured back in. Those ding bats up front, gone! He compensated my annoyance with 2 complimentary massages, fixed my account. My favorite therapist is gone now, but I'm constantly impressed with each new one I try. I'm pretty settled on Marcus now. Amazing skill, I was seeing him weekly while unknown to him I was going through a health crisis with my son. I could not escape my fear and worry. Crying, working out, drinking, talking it out, nothing unlocked my constant fear of the worst possible thing might happen. My hour with Marcus and his ability to unlock my stress, drift my thoughts away, was the only moments of peace I had during a 5 week time of waiting on labs, specialist and diagnoses.. Walter has made this place a "home town" kinda feeling, he listens, jokes, and if you run into him out n about, don't be surprised if he buys you a drink. He has created a community feel that in a city this size, is incomparable. Today, I had an appointment, realized my son left to the show with my car keys! Ugh... I called to cancel, Walter asked how far away I was. He was on my street in 4 minutes to pick me up! That's service there.. Lol. But, I can't promise that for any of you. This was after months of rebuilding, no "building" a relationship. I rarely go back to anything.... But I'm glad I did this time.

My bf and I went to Massage Green in Birmingham, MI. After our massages and we left my bf told me that his therapist (female) made him uneasy by telling him to go 'COMMANDO' next time for a better massage. What exactly does that mean?

If your boyfriend has any low back issues, massaging the glutes help. Also if his underwear was too baggy it would inhibit the therapist for working the thigh... nothing more. In all honesty it is easier working on males and females when their "Commando"

You just sound like a pissed off ex-employee. Some people actually have and maybe if you wanted to 'move up' you should have just asked.

I think you're just a disgruntled employee. Before you start questioning and talking down on management you should really learn the concept of grammar. It's there, their and they're. I think THERE is a reason you were not a manager and they may have had no spa experience before but it is a great place to start out THEY'RE just starting in the spa field like everyone has to do and it is not THEIR fault it is not decorated to your standards, they don't decorate corporate does. Oh, and FYI it's Mediocrity... Sorry, I just don't think people who don't know/use grammar or how to spell (or spell check for that matter) should be talking down on other people. Like they say, there is a difference between knowing YOU'RE SH** and knowing YOUR SH**.

While I understand it is difficult to "believe" in an ex employee who may be bitter, but, the posts I have read are too nice. These franchises are a dump. Walk into a location that has been open for a couple of years. You will find it is filthy and in disrepair. The corp refuses to pay for cleaning or maintenance. Items that stop working are not replaced. They buy laundry soap at the dollar store, along with their plastic cups that are rewashed over and over again. They do not invest in employing qualified management. Managers are inexperienced workers with no grasp on what it means to manage. Therapists are abused and disrespected and stay only long enough to find their own way. Massage Green is a cheap gimmick to make a quick buck. Greed drives them. If you get massage for the right reasons and want the wonderful results its provides you are short changed at MG. They do not promote wellness and could care less about their customers. Find an independent therapist and you will be amazed at the difference. If its "cheap" you are looking for and are willing to sacrifice the true benefits of massage MG is the place for you. Remember what I said about the filth the next time you strip naked in this place. UGH. And try not to feel guilty that the person you entrust your body too is making less than half of the money that is standard for the physically, emotionally, mentally challenging work they perform. You get what you pay for. A massage therapist does not give back rubs. This is a career. Massage chains suck the life out of their therapists and if you think for one minute you are getting a great massage in these places it proves you just never had a great massage. Its not the therapists fault They got sucked in just like you and are diligently saving to get the hell out

It's not the actual managers that is the problem. It's that corporate wants them to do illegal stuff like alter the staffs time clock. And refuse breaks. The only reason they are still open is because the owner works out a deal with the building owners to not pay rent the first year they are open. Hence why one michigan location closed due to being slow. Another closed because of mold. Mold that the owners knew about and did nothing about.

These places really tick me off. they want the talent to do all of the work at these cheap prices and they want the therapists to carry their own insurance. oh but the owner is friendly and greets you by name. this is just a legal form of pimping.

I'm sorry you feel that way Nanci.
We do our best to satisfy the customerís wants and needs.
Sometimes a "happy ending" is just what it takes to complete that full massage experience.
I can assure you it is done very professionally.
We also pay special attention to keep things very hygienically clean and safe.
