Thousands Remain Without Power Following Storm
DTE Energy crews are still cleaning up after Monday's intense storms. WWJ's Ron Dewey reports that as of 5:00 a.m. Monday, about 47,000 DTE Energy customers were still in the dark, with the brunt of the damage in Wayne County; the Dearborn , Taylor, Canton and Dearborn Heights areas - especially for residents along Beech Daly near Cherry Hill.

We barely had any storm here in Plymouth. After it died down a line came down and two transformers blew nearby. I expected all the help would be busy in Dearborn, but service was restored by 7:30PM. I was impressed.

Plus I received a call today from DTE apologizing for the outage. They seem to have turned over a new leaf in customer satisfaction. Sure is great to have power back. First thing I did was start recharging batteries for next time. I could go about two weeks on DC power without being too inconvenienced. Guess I can forget about the 20KW generator.
