Giving this man the business on a no-bid basis was wrong. It looks bad because it is bad. On the other hand, he has a proven success record and just maybe the job won't be done as well or will cost more when they find a replacement. Such is the built in cost of maintaining a system with controls and fairness.

How come all this fiasco came out in bunches? All of these cronies would have gotten away with these dirty deeds. Where was the backup plan if things went awry??Do they just do as they wish not worrying about consequences and try to cover things up!? Everyone involved in these shady deals should hang their heads low!no telling what went on we don't know about. Ithis really makes us trust government

The process was ongoing for over two years. The severance package and misdealings with the new jail project forced the hand to bring it all public and consolidate the charges. It makes me wonder how many times such latent activity is never charged.
