Well, I can see all the comments are coming from the south end of DBH. AS long as I can remember the South end has been the white trash area and still is and always will be (to close to Taylor). That is why all your comments are ignorant, it comes from white trash. If you have not lived in DBH since the 80's you cannot comment. And to the comment about district 7, you have to be one prejudice loser to make that comment. I bet you belive everyone is losing thier jobs to the Latino's and racism nolonger exisits because we have a black president. Of course I graduated from Crestwood so, I have a more liberal education. This allows me to see past untied shoes and baggy pants.
FYI check out www.pks12.com , to see how DBH district 7 High Schools out ranked Framington High Schools on MEAP testing!
Dearborn Heights was a joke in the 60's 70's 80's 90's and it looks as if things haven't changed.

I have lived in the south end of Dearborn Heights for over 46 years now (moved here at the age of 15 from SW Detroit). Yes, things have changed but what has changed dramatically is the increased whining. Bad things are allowed to continue because people don't want to put down the remotes and get off their butts and get involved. Its easier to whine and complain than to get involved.

Do you whiners attend city council meetings, so you can tell them reducing our police and fire force is a bad idea or find out what decisions are being made about our city? Do you join neighborhood watch groups? How about joining your Dearborn Heights CERT, do you even know what CERT stands for???!!!- Community Emergency Response Team. Do you know that the Dearborn Heights CERT is one other cities in the state model theirs from? Do you get email updates from our crime prevenion policeman, Officer Parrinello, so you know what to watch out for in your area of Dearborn Heights?
Do you know there is a group of dedicated citizens that give their free time to help keep the city safe; like using their own cars and gas to patrol the city and be the eyes and ears for our police department during certain times.

Maybe if you put as much effort into building up your city as you do putting it down we could change things around.

You think moving to another "better" city is going to take you away from the bad stuff. Well, think again. I know people who have moved to "better" cities only to find the same things there that they thought they had moved away from. Do you really think there are "better" cities out there. How many times on tv do you hear the refrain when a crime has been committed "I didn't think something like this could happen here".

ise up people, a city is only as good as the people that live in it and help it thrive. Stop blaming everything on the people who are seeking a better life and move here. Stand up for the city where you live instead of dumping on it.

Infamous musician Dave Conant lives in Dearborn Heights and he is the top guitarist in the 50's Mc Donald's on Telegraph in the South Heights. He's also the top lady "killer", much like Charley on Two and One-Half Men.

I did not grow up in your area but spent summers with family there for many years..It was a beautiful area, along with Detroit-or at least wherever we went. The shopping malls and all the neat places to go and things to do..But certain people have destroyed it all..They have NO RESPECT for themselves nor for others and then wonder why we complain..I have many great memories of the people and places in that area..I wish it were still the same..

Old Gezzerette, you are right about a lot of things you have said , but the fact still remains that people have destroyed it.Take pride in things, not tear them down..You can not change people/force them to do what is right, evil flourishes when good men do nothing..I am afraid it's happening all over this country.

I live in N. Dbn. Hts. Its a nice neighborhood as it always has been since I went to Crestwood. There are always kids playing. The houses are nice and kept up. Plus very friendly neighbors. Most of my friends that I went to school with still live in the area also. Not much has changed but the younger generation bought the houses around our parents.

If anyone has been going to or watch city councel meetings the last 3-4 years you would be hearing me say the same things about this city. It used to be a great and clean place to live, but now it is getting as bad as Detriot.
All depend on how much you care about the city you was elected to serve. Community leadership and family values are key factures for neighborhoods stability.

south dearborn hghts was always a little rougher than the north end .and yes it was just a matter of time before inkster would creep in ,, if your going to live in south dearborn hghts,,better to live east of telegraph rd. next to dearborn. now if you want to live in little lebanon ,,i mean north dearborn hghts then you will have to contend with that. you will have to put up with their careless driving habits,, special treatment for their kids being served halal foods at the high school cafeteria and on and on. the one good thing about the lebanese is that if you own real estate in north dearborn hghts ,,it should go up in value! when the lebanese migrated from south dearborn to east dearborn, the real estate market went crazy in east dearborn!! by the way why are we talking about dearborn hghts in livonia topix????
