I dont understand how someone who is 100% disabled can do this job. It's a tough one. You are always on call and you have to be pretty tough to do it. You are moving dead people!! What a goof this Julian is!!

I agree, 100%... Coroner is a hard job. Takes a strong, caring and compassionate person. And you need a stomach for disgusting things!!! Can't be afraid to get dirty in that position....

Dave Julian is the best for the job he is not in it for the money that the other two are and will do a good job. he will not be rushed so any others like the girl that killed her daughter won't get away with it do to rush reports so to get to running a funeral business. one more thing you other people that list not even in oneida county I would hope he finds out who you are and sews you good as you have no right to put him down about any personal health issues that is between him and his Dr. I happen to know his Dr. gave him the ok to run so that should be it.

then he shouldnt be on disability!! if he is ok to work then he should get a job. our tax dollars at work... paying for someone who has a "bad back" or whatever his problem is. arent people who are on ssd only allowed to make so much money??? what the hell is going to happen when he goes over that amount if he does win as coroner?? thats right, just more money our county has to shell out. this crap makes me angry!!! can't wait to see how this plays out. HA!

ohboy to answer your question as I know it for every dollor a person earns over the amount allowed that is taken from the ssi check so it could be a good thing if he were able to earn more than the ssi payout would not be so much. as for the coroner job it is not a tough job basic it is a leg work job paper work and looking into why a person died.

oh really???? not a tough job?? who do you think picks up dead bodies off the floor on a unnattended death??? ummm yeah, the coroner!!! ssd peeps shouldnt be doing that kind of stuff... if they are able to do that then they shouldnt be on ssd!! the person who "looks" into why the person died would be the medical examiner or the doctor performing the autopsy. im sorry to be a pain but its spelled concerned.

Funeral directors are a perfect fit for coroner in oneida county. they have all the means, transporation, a license to transport people over county lines and so on... they do this for a living. they know how to talk to families and treat them right. its a no brainer!

First. The coroner doesn't sit there and pick up the dead people and drag them around.
Ever been at an accident with the road closed and the fire department, police CBS ambulance are all there and the dead guy is still in the road? That's because, NOONE can pronounce an accident victim dead but a coroner. The coroner shows up. Says, "yup, they are dead". Then the emt's scrape up the remains and finish the investigation. The coroners work begins back at the office.
So you can get some Gimp in a wheelchair to do the job.

You are correct that the coroner has to pronounce the person dead but they don't call a coroner to the scene unless they already know they are dead. Coroners are responsible for the body. Most of them move the remains themselves or call the funeral director that the family has chosen. Ambulance companies can but do not like to transport the deceased. You have to be physically able to move the deceased to be a corner.

Hook a chain to the back of the gimps wheelchair and they can drag the dead body down the road.
