Favorite restaurant

Michael's Fine Food and Spirits has become our favorite eating place. Michael is a wonderful chef and his dishes are all excellent...hard to have a favorite.

A funny story: We live within walking distance of this restaurant and one day last year we called directory assistance to get the number and called in our order. Thirty minutes later we showed up to pick up the chicken riggies and hot wings and the lady at the bar said they did not have our order. We went round and round over my calling in when it occured to us that perhaps I had called the other Michael's in Utica- or some other city-(because of my reliance on that stupid "connecting you now" feature from 411-- I hardly ever write down numbers anymore). Eventually I calmed down and the nice lady agreed to make us THEIR version of my order. Not wanted to go home empty-handed, I am so glad now that I patiently waited while they whipped up our order. Waterville is pretty limited as far as takeout, and we tried Dominicks in Bridgewater this week and while that has a pretty interior, Michael's has far superior food quality and while you canonly get wine and beer at Dominic's, Michael's has a full bar. Is michaels still open? Someone told me the other day that they are closed now.... if so that is a shame...it was a good place to eat.

ok so after reading this blog the other day, I decided to go to Michael's last night...can I just say that the blackened scallops and the beer battered chickened sandwich that I ate was the best I ever had.

Every one that was with me was super happy about the food...its too bad that they are moving, I am sure they will be greatly missed in Waterville!!
