This was a dumb move on the part of workers. Being among the highest paid employees in the state, along with the value of their benefits, you would think they are happy. BUT NO. We what more.More,more,more. And now, a corrupt union will take a handfull of dues out of their pockets for what? NOTHING.Nothing that they could have gotten on their own. How stupid.Unions dont help anymore, they hurt business.

Maybe now with a union the dealers will stop cheating the people out of their hard earned money, and the State DOSR will do their job.
Its sad to think that this State looks the other way on Casino Cheating. What happen to A G Blumenthal Still sitting on his hands on this one?

Haha, suckers. Give it a few years and the union will suck more dues and demand strikes that just cost people their homes and livelihoods. If the union members make informed decisions and do not follow their attorney-leaders over the cliff, then they can survive, but this so rarely happens. Unions are just attorneys taking over making decisions for you instead of you making your own career decisions.

Thankyou cgomez, nice to hear from someone who understands. Unions used to be helpful, but no more. They just take money out of your pocket and you have no say in how its spent. Is that what people want? To be robbed?

Do any of you northerners say please, thank you, hold doors for people behind you, let someone get in front of you if they need to, say yes sir/mam, when appropriate, teach your kids to be polite and not talk back???? DOUBT IT. Yall are the rudest people in this damn country. I've met quite of few of yall that have moved down to the southeast and I'm sick of it. Yall sound like you've got a chip on your shoulder at all times. Never once has a yankee ever smiled at anyone for the heck of it, or just to be nice. I know this because I travel to and from NY, Philadelphia, and Ohio for work. I've been working for this company for 14 years, so please don't tell me I'm stupid or a redneck or one of your rude yankee remarks. Perhaps If the women of up north had some class to put on decent outfits and try to present themselves better, they wouldn't look so trashy. Perhaps if the men smiled at women or held doors, or even tried to act polite you'd be perceived better. Your kids are rude brats who talk back, where hoodies and trashy clothes to school, your daughters look like whores on the weekends, I've been to plenty of bars in the cities listed and seen these horrible trashy girls. You don't even take time to ask people how they are or any type of nice behavior. Personally, I don't know how people can go on day to day acting like they are miserable people. It doesn't make sense to be so mean...it really doesn't. I'm saying all of this because for the last 14 years through work only I've had to visit the northeast. For the last 14 years, barely anyone has ever smile back at me. I've seen more rude attitude women roll their eyes at me. I've never had someone ask me back how I am doing...all I ever hear is "I'm fine" or "I'm good". Like would it kill you people to be kind. The person next to you in the grocery store is a mother, daughter, son, father, brother, sister, aunt...etc you get my point. We are all in the same boat-doing the same things every day. Would it kill you people to not act so miserable. Please I'm begging you all to smile at someone, give someone a darn complement, let someone get in front of you on the road (the 2 seconds that it takes isn't going to slow you down I promise). Try to dress nice, and by nice I don't mean all black. Yall think black pants and black always looks good, it's depressing, and it only adds to your miserable attitudes towards things. Do your makeup or hair. I'm not saying be pretentious, but just look nice, and smile. It will make all the world difference in how others think of you and how you think of yourself. Now I know all of you will fire back "You're the mean one on here talkin bad about us"( I'm just trying to get all this in your heads, not maliciously though) "your a dumb southerner", "all you care about is looks", I don't have to get dressed up to impress anyone", "I don't have to be nice If I don't want to"....I'm telling you people, your having kids who are just as miserable as you and their kids will be the same. It would be a much better place if people were kind to one another. Don't curese, it's unattractive..especially for women. From one American to another, Happy Holidays. BE KIND.
All I can say to you is..........We are all not like that.
Merry Christmas.

You blame the Union for that???? How about why all the jobs are gone to Mexico, Canada,= "NAFTA". All other jobs are going to China, Japan and India. CHEAP LABOR. can you afford to work for less than a dollar an hour. BIG BUSINESS WINS...

Do you drive an american made car. I doubt it but most of us will complain why we have no more manufacturing jobs. I try to buy american when ever possible.

And the reason why jobs went to mexico? Because unions pushed and pushed for more raises and tons of benefits costing companies too much money.Wait till a union gets a hold in china, or india. Then they will go somewhere else. And by the way...I drive an American car.

The Employer signes contracts for wages and benifits, Nobody puts a gun to their heads, what you see on TV is when things get tough for the employer it is always the Unions fault..

I was an employer for most of my adult life, in the electrical & HVAC industry. I worked both sides of the fence Union and Non Union. believe me I found it much better working as a Union employer. I did not care if the workers demanded 100 dollars an hour. guess what if I could not get the work at 100 dollars an hour, they would not have a job. Its all give and take with the unions and employers.

Why are the casino workers now looking into going union??? because they feel they are being mistreated by the cansino owners. and on their own they can get nowhere...

Presidential candidate Perot had it right, NAFTA= giant sucking sound of all the jobs going south..

Are you telling me the cost of high wages and expensive benefits, which the unions bargain for, is not a factor in moving operations over the border? And the gun that is used is a strike.

I agree, the casino workers are the among the highest paid employees in this state. But, they will be getting less, since they have to pay union dues.

over 50% of toyota and nissan cars are built in tennessee and kentucky. Americans are building them and they are happy to have a job and happy to get what they feel is a fair wage. They are non union jobs.

The casino workers are stupid. The unions for the most part (like mine)are self serving, greedy entities. The union bigwigs drive Cadillacs, and go to "conventions" at our expense.Have a greivance? They side with management.Dues are raised every year.Casino workers have good pay, nice work areas-and they get Christmas bonuses.I pay union dues, get crap from management, and no bonuses ever.

Americans are building them with most parts coming from Mexico and Japan. and ALL the profits go back to Japan.. Not my idea of buying american from an american company. I just bought a NEW chrysler town and country van. It says right on the sticker 81% american made parts, motor from Mexico.
Nothing much changed after the merger with Daimler, they are NOT importing parts from Germany and the Money is still here in the USA.

Toyota workers are looking at going union because of all their problems....

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/...

Nissan allready has union workers around the world.. even some in the USA>...

Labour Union of Nissan
Despite the gloomy situation surrounding Nissan, the Nissan auto workers’ union, consisting of 40,000 members, had never raised its voice in objection, and conducted no protest actions to the plan. But it was not only the Nissan auto workers’ union that failed to raise its voice. The Nissan workers’ union had set up the Confederation of Nissan Workers’ Union (200,000 members) with Nissan-related companies and dealers, which joined the Confederation of Japan Automobile Workers’ Union, or JAW (800,000 members). Neither the Confederation of Nissan Workers’ Union nor JAW had lodged protests against the plan.

Like everything else there are Good unions and there are bad unions.. I worked all my life in the construction business on both sides of the fence. and without unions the business would be a mess. Union Hiring halls can be called for as many workers as you need, when you need them. Non union you put an add in the paper and HOPE. then when you are done with the job you send the workers back to the union hall where they get on a list for another job.. PERFECT... for the workers and the contractors...
