This was cold blooded murder. The guard tried to say it was spontaneous ... and even tried to excuse it by saying they heard a shot from a roof (which was silly, because they fired 63 shots down hill ... not in the air) All the excuses the guard came up with were just that ... excuses.
The guard came from duty keeping the piece during a teamsters strike, where shots were fired at trucks. That is why the guard had live ammo when they arrived in Kent.
63 shots fired ... and the closest victim was over 40 ft away ... They were tired and frustrated ... not in any danger from students.

Everybody knew it when it happened. It took a Republican government to excuse the slaughter of unarmed American students by American troops. The GOP: murdering the opposition since November 1963.

Absoluely right. Murder in cold blood.

There's no limitation for murder, is there? Isn't killing always an open case for the cops, however long ago it was?....

Too bad we can't dig up DelCorso and Rhodes and try them for their crimes. Still, at least it's good to know that those who said all along that the Guard fired on command were telling the truth. This was cold-blooded, military-style execuation of innocent students.

Don't forget the black students who died at Jackson State, either. Also victims of mindless brutality, and in their case racism as well.

Naturally there is no evidence for the public to review to back up what is only the opinion of two people hired by the liberal news media to say what they have said.

The Government was sending American Citizens a Message - Get to far out of line We will kill you! Then Sent that message again at Ruby Ridge, Then at Waco and They will Do it Again!

Have you heard the tape?

Of course not.

A lib newspaper paid two "expert" witnessed to say that they hear voices on the tape that no one else heard before.

You'd have to be pretty gullible to just take their word for it.

10:1 odds that he wasn't even born in 1970. But he's an

I think it goes like this:(1) drink a lot (2) refuse to get a 'liberal' education (communist beatniks run those colleges, ya know)(3) ignore experts who spend their lives analyzing policy and procedure (4) listen with rapt attention to drug-addled hate radio hosts who spew insane conspiracy theories and (5) ignore the majority arguments in the legal cases and focus on minutiae, which you can then regurgitate out-of-context in an anonymous online forum.

I think that's about it. I may have left out a step, like forgetting to take antipsychotic medications.

Well I wonít bet against that Iíll tell ya that. I'm just very confused as to how any one can compare those three in one statement.

For what it is worth .... Kent State was a pretty conservative campus. I saw agitators come in a few days prior .... I was at Kent state ... and I think it was all a set up ... not the killings ... but the confrontation.

The skewed linkage of the three events actually
trivializes what occurred on May 4, 1970 at Kent
State, as the anti-war protests that served as the
backdrop for what happened had taken place in
hundreds and hundreds of college campuses nation-
wide by 1970. None before had come close to the
carnage that occurred at Kent State. And the
followup investigation clearly showed there had been
no provocation even close to being worthy of gunfire.

There were events before the standoff at Ruby Ridge
and before the calamity at Waco that gave at least
reasonable cause for those representing the govern-
ment to have their fingers on the trigger. I don't
see any similarity or connection between Ruby Ridge/
Waco and Kent State. Not in the least.

Spare us the hyperbole and overdramatic interpretation
of what was a singular disaster after literally hundreds
and hundreds of similar events across the nation over a
period of years. It was a major screw up in National
Guard leadership that caused the slaughter, shootings
that were totally unwarranted given what had occurred
priority to the slaughter.

Linking it to Ruby Ridge and Waco trivializes what
happened at Kent State.

And, despite the inclination to make everything a
conspiracy of some sort, it is more than likely that
it was the idiocy of a National Guard guy still
wet behind the ears, hoping to God he didn't get
sent to Vietnam, that pulled the trigger ...
intentionally or otherwise.

You don't need orders from above to be plain stupid.

What do you mean by "naturally"? Regardless of what the tape disclosed, do you want to deny that The National Guard shot and killed Kent State students in cold blood? Can you not face the fact that it was one of the darkest moments in the history of this country? Al you want to do is quibble about "liberals" and other crap that is irrelevant to the subject. It happened, and if you want to get political, it came from right wing ideology.

"What do you mean by "naturally"? "

I mean the left is very good at manufacturing evidence to support it's position.

This is just the unsupported word of two hired guns for the lib media.

Um. The government decided they didn't like certain behaviours, so they sent armed men, who shot people? Did you need it explained further?

Well, on second thought, there is a difference. In the Ruby Ridge and Waco situations, the people were basically keeping to themselves and minding their own business, and the govt. intruded on them. The Kent State people were making a big point of public protest and being a disobedient mob. If you push men with guns enough, there's a risk they will call your bluff and things will go wrong.
