New DeSoto bridge

I know this is going to sound like a stupid question but why did they build a new bridge just down from the old bridge in DeSoto? And instead of spending the money on a new pedestrian bridge why didn't they just add a lane off to the side of the new bridge just for pedestrians? It sounds like a waste of taxpayers money. Now if you are coming from the park and you take the new bridge good luck at the 4 way stop sign at the railroad tracks. Because people will not let you make a left to cross the tracks without trying to run you over. Just wait until soccer season at the park starts and people try to take the new bridge. What is your opinion? Am I off base on my thoughts?

It is because no one follows the rules of the road. The police could set there and write tickets all day long. It would make a great income for the city of Desoto When the person in front of you goes doesn't mean it's your turn next. The people setting at the other stop signs should be the ones going. It's like everyone is in a hurry and ignores the rules of the road.

They need to put the 'back out' lane back on main street by narrowing the sidewalks that nobody walks on to get to resale shops that nobody shops at because Wal-Mart has run all our locally owned stores out of business.
And congrats on building a bridge to nowhere in what's gradually becoming a ghost town!
Wasteful spending!

Ok "Dot" If you cant manage to back a vehicle out in this "ghost town" I am not sure how you manage to actually drive onto the walmarts lot and not compain about that LoL. Desoto has like 14 restaurants so i am pretty sure the people are not ghosts, ghosts cannot eat i think.

I have used it once, just to try it out and that's it. The old one lane would been better be to be put back up, be there when the shops get out. It sucks and not one cop around to help with order down there.
