I feel sorry forthe people in olympian village. They have no say in what is going on there. They have lost all there police officers, and no one to patrol there city. The city is wide open to anything.Drug dealers and so on.

Don't they fall under Jefferson County Police department? Not being a smart ass, just thought they would.

Well I do live in Olympian Village and to be honest have not had a lot of trouble here. Yes the Jefferson County Sheriffs Dept is there if you need an officer and they do respond quickly so am as safe as anyone else in the county. I am not aware of any drug problems around me and am sure that the sheriff's department would respond even faster.
they dont patrol

why would the school bus need a patrol, i don't live in Olympian Village, but my child rides the bus, and no one is patrolling the bus.....I'm confused as to WHY you would need that.

Ok, I know I've only been driving for 38 years, but pretty sure the law was, and has always been that you stop for school bus stop sign as you call it. That sounds like a driver problem, not a police matter, maybe everyone in the village needs another driving test IF you need a special patrol just for that. I'm betting most people in the village KNOW how to drive and pretty much watch out for kids.....if you seriously think you need a special cop to watch out for you, you need to get off your ass and do something yourself.

It's the law to stop for a school bus, if you are worried about your kids, wait with them at the bus stop. My kid rides the bus, both ways. There is no patrol car watching my kid, or the bus, or my neighborhood for "strangers". Try meeting your neighbors, they make great watchdogs, try calling the real cops if there's a problem. It's absurd to think you need a "special" cop to watch your kids or your stuff.......get off your butts and do it yourself!

Hope Big Brother is watching O.V. 4th of July before & after. If there is a lot of fireworks like all other years, The grass, etc. is so very dry, O.V. may burn and there will be no town called Olympian Village. It is a serious situation out there.

Its a very serious situation EVERYWHERE right now.....it would be NICE if parents would not buy their kids fireworks and turn them loose with them. I enjoyed MONITORED fireworks very much, but have seen way too many teens with bottle rockets that have no regard for thinking of where it might land and what to do if it goes where it shouldn't.

I understand the drug situation is so bad that the police are advising people to get out of the village. That can't always be done. Big city or small village people have a right to be protected against law breakers

I live in Olympian Village and have not heard of police telling people to move out of here. There is a lot of gossip that goes on - as with all small towns - most of it is just gossip, not correct information. There still has not been a decision on the sewer bill increase and at this time, there is not a charge to have your sewer worked on unless they have had to repeatedly fix your sewer system because of something improper disposed of by the home owner.

I think you are mistaken, as I have several friends who live in the village, and not one of them have heard the "police" telling anyone to get out of the village. Olympian Village people are perfectly welcome to call Jefferson County Sheriff's department just like anyone else is if the problem is really a police matter. Just because you live in the "village" doesn't exclude you from the law.

been shot for awhile in there.I see them every night. To bad they dont have someone to patrol anymore. But no honest police officer would work there after the way the last few good ones worked there and where badgered and treated like dirt by the board and Mayors. Its so bad the one that where in there they even moved out i heard. Its not good when the county officers are telling people to move out. This is the first i heard of it,but makes sense.Have a good garden hose for the firworks,at least you have a good fire Department.Thats the only thing you got.

I know first hand about the amount of drugs in OV. I did and copped so much dope there back in the day. Thats also when they had police. Doubt things have changed much.
