Whoops! My mistake. I was misinformed I suppose. I must have confused death tart with someone else. I was told by a relative, well it is not important. Forget it. It's all good. Freedom of Speech is a beautiful thing. Keep on griping and I will keep on saying whatever it is I want to say.

Just what in the hell makes you think pop tart does NOT own property? Do you have a crystal ball that tells you these things? And people can gripe all they want here and not a damn thing you can do about it. Ya dig?

When you move into your own home and start paying taxes, then you can complain. Until then lets keep the griping to a minimum, please.<quoted text>
See what happens when we assume things on issues or people we know nothing about. Like you said, "it's all good." But to just let you know, I do pay my part of the property taxes.

You are so completly correct. You know what they say, render to Caesar what is Caesars and to God what is God's. Tax payers are awesome. Without them, where in the world would we be?

It's sad that DHS allowed an illiterate person to graduate. It's not a good reflection on the teachers.

After reading some of the posts, I think we should beg Nelda Priddy to come out of retirement and teach our kids proper grammar.
I can picture her face upon reading some of these and I've had a good chuckle.

Nothing DHS does puts a "good" reflection on the teachers.

Not true! That may apply to graduates in the past few years, but not going ten years back.
I had Nelda Priddy as my English teacher and I guarantee you that when I graduated I was able to pass any college level English course.
I am proud to be a graduate of DHS.

What is aspesates? It sounds like some kind of mexican food. But why would mexican food be found under "crapet"?
I ordered some "aspesates" at Prado's and they threw me out. Said thay didn't permit illegal acts in their restuarant. Evidently it's not Mexican Food but sure sounds like it might be fun ever what it is!

10 years back, thats in the past. Im not sure on how it was then, but how it is now there is no reason at all for someone to brag about graduating DHS. Hell it would be better just not to mention DeLeon at all, because most people in Texas have heard or know what DeLeon is like.

That's sad. Where did it go wrong? Do you think it is the lack of care from the teachers, parents, students, or all three?

Well first of all you have to understand, EVERY school in the world has gotten worse over a 10 year period. But I think De Leon just gave up. The teachers are to blame for the dumbass kids graduating there, but the parents are to blame for not doing something about it. And well the students plain just dont give a crap. The only thing De Leon school has is a football team....thats it. And not a very good one at that. They took care of the football team more than they did the school, as you can obviously tell by them having to make a new one. The generations keep getting dumber. Alot of kids that graduated 10 years ago may have had a good education and knowledge skills. But all you graduate with now is knowing football plays, or nothing. Everyone is to blame, but mainly the teachers.

Yes, blame can be placed all around, but I'd say the parents are the main ones to blame. They are generally lazy when it comes to properly raising their kids these days and would rather look "cool" to their kids and their kids' friends than dare lay down the law. And of course, the parents have their vices that have to take presedence over the future character of their kids, like money, greed, drugs and alcohol satisfaction. They only have a small window of time to get their kids on the right track and many miss that opportunity. In many cases, caring, competent teachers have their hands tied by the fear of upsetting the egos of their childish parents. Once a system like this takes hold, it's impossible to turn back the clock and go back to core values of olden days.

Like I said, times are changing. Yea, ALOT of the reason that most kids in this town lack knowledge and/or common sense is because of their parents. But why shouldnt the parents in this town be lazy and not give a crap that their kids are becoming the worthless adults of tomorrow? Everyones doing it. I bet you that if someone who wasnt inbred or didnt have some kind of mental/moral defect was brought here, they would start to blend in. In this town if you want to amount to anything in teachers and/or other parents eyes, then you have to join the crowd of acting like a backwooded drop-out. And what is the saddest thing about it is that most graduates that come from here are just about as smart as a drop out (or less). You could be a student that studies all the time and does your work, only to find that the teachers kids, and football players (that never do any work) are ahead of you in GPA. I would like to blame it mainly on the parents, but the whole town is equally to blame.
