De Leon Is a dying town. The school is a 1 A There are not many jobs here. People who have moved to this town are here because they have family here or close to here. I do not believe the school is in as bad of shape as they want us to believe. You should not build a new school in a dying town.

They actually should have properly maintained the school all these years instead of allowing it to slowly deteriorate. I've heard that at every school Randy Mohundro has worked, he pushed for a new high school and got it then moved on to greener pastures. Does anyone know the dollar amount the new school will cost? My judgment kind of depends on how much local taxes will increase. I know people who barely are able to keep living in their home on their monthly SS check as it is. I do not think they needed all the land that they bought up. Look how much unused land they have now.

I don't agree with the way the school board is blowing money and flat out conned the good people of De Leon into wasting tax dollars. Yes the school is in very bad shape, but that issue could have been avoided. Now it's to late to save the building because the school board refused to spend the money all these years to fix it. Their ideal of fix is to build new, not repair.

Now that it is past repair they go and blow even more money on buying land that they did not need. Why not move the kids temp to the old hospital and build the new school were the old school is now. And the excuse of having the school on hwy frontage will cause even more problems. Are they going to let the new school also fall apart to.

We voted for these people to be on the school board because we trusted them to make good sound judgments for our children's education, so far I have seen nothing but bad judgments and the promise of higher taxes. I know where mine and many other folks from De Leons votes stand when these board member come up for re-election.

I have lived in this town for over 25yrs. I don't see De Leon dying. Matter of fact the school has many more children enrolled now then it did back then. Many business have closed down, but then many buisness have opened here too. The population is rising with every census. No it's not the boom town as it was 100yrs ago, but it is no where close to a ghost town. It amazes me that for such a little town it sure is a busy town from 7am to 6pm with all the traffic.

I do not know who this is but it is obvious you have no idea what you are talking about. The problem with most topics and discussions is that they contain accusations that are always supported by "I've heard" or and that sickens me. No one was tricked or scammed as far as tax payers are concerned. There was a vote. The bond passed!!! Leave it ALONE!!! What is done is done. There is NO going back and there is NO changing the decision. Why not find ways to support the town of De Leon and the people in it. Life is far too short to spend time bashing and destroying those around you. My Mom always told me as a child. "If you cannot say something nice, then shut your mouth." I think she was brilliant. More importantly God says in II Cor 2:20 For I am afraid that perhaps when I come I may find you to be not what I wish and may be found by you to be not what you wish; that perhaps there will be strife, jealousy, angry tempers, disputes, slanders, gossip, arrogance, disturbances. Psalm 10: 7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression; Under his tongue is trouble and iniquity. Psalm 52:2 Your tongue devises destruction, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. Psalm 120:2 Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips And from a deceitful tongue. Proverbs 17:4 An evildoer gives heed to false lips; A liar listens eagerly to a spiteful tongue. Proverbs 21:6 Getting treasures by a lying tongue Is the fleeting fantasy of those who seek death. Jer 9:5 Everyone will deceive his neighbor, And will not speak the truth; They have taught their tongue to speak lies; They weary themselves to commit iniquity. James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!

I will be praying for you as well. May God bless you in such a way that you will no longer feel the need to cast such words against others. Seek and you will find. God loves you and wants you to say things that would bring honor and glory to him. Speaking ill will towards others will only rot your bones and make you angry and sad.

I live here in DeLeon Texas. I love the people in this town. Of course you have troubles, of course you have backbiters, of course you have those that feel the need to hinder anything wonderful from happening. I believe that DELEON residents are better than all of this. I believe that in this town there are wonderful, beautiful, amazing, souls that need to be saved, salvaged, and or overhauled. In this town I have found love to be unconditional. Yes, I have also been targeted for hateful rumors, but I do not care. I KNOW that the LOVE of JESUS is bigger than ALL of this STUFF. I proudly proclaim to be a follower of my LORD JESUS CHRIST. I make mistakes, my family makes mistakes, my friends make mistakes. Anyone that is breathing makes mistakes. Above and beyond all this, JESUS still reigns!!! At the end of the day, I am still able to sing praises to my God and I am able to sleep peacefully at night knowing that my God is in CONTROL!!!!

Since you quoted my post, it's clear you're accusing me of making accusations, bashing and destroying. You're actually doing the very thing you're preaching so much about. I didn't accuse anyone of anything and didn't bash anyone unless you can prove me wrong. You're showing clear prejudice against the people who were against building a new school and you're saying they have no right to their objections. That makes you a blasphemist and hypocrite.

Oh no my dear friend. You have it all wrong. I am not bashing anyone. I am just saying that there was a vote. The majority rules. End of story!!! I was just suggesting that we all be supportive now and move on. I am sorry that you thought I was bashing or destroying you. Again I apologize if you thought I was bashing you. Indeed that was not my intention. I am not preaching either. I will leave that to the ones who are called to preach. I will however quote, write, or exclaim the word of God. His word is righteous, regardless of what anyone says. God's word is TRUTH!!! According to the word of God, if you are not lifting others up then you are tearing them down. I was merely suggesting, we all lift one another up. Again I am so sorry if you thought I was trying to bash you. I only wanted to bring harmony and peace to the forums of DeLeon.

Since you can't comprehend anything, I suggest you get someone to read posts and explain them to you. I didn't say you were "bashing and destroying" me, I was simply quoting what you said when quoting me. And if people disagreed with the school issue, they still have that right, no matter what you and God think.

While your doing your praying please feel free to pray that the school board uses sound judgment on the building of the new school and that they keep the children and their educational needs in mind.

Against. The High School is kinda old, but just because its old that shouldn't mean its damaged. Every problem the High School has could have been prevented with the proper maintenance required, but the school was too lazy to take care of it.

The votes in this poll are a complete joke. 44 votes and there is no more than a half dozen people that use this forum. It looks like the "For" people voted multiple times.

When you move into your own home and start paying taxes, then you can complain. Until then lets keep the griping to a minimum, please.

Just what in the hell makes you think pop tart does NOT own property? Do you have a crystal ball that tells you these things? And people can gripe all they want here and not a damn thing you can do about it. Ya dig?
