Yes,

I know that there have been other threads concerning this issue. If you look back you will see that. However, I am not going to dredge up a 7 months post that contains information that might not be related to what I am going to discuss now.

Nor is the one that has been responded to that was more recently replied too on topic with what I am now going to discuss. So, I feel warranted to start a new topic.

So, to start, we need a little history of that has happened over the last few months.

Internet issues in 2010 previous to late August:

At that time Reach was route there signal through Alverado. We got constant excuses that Alverado was the big problem and once they could sign a contract with another company things would get better.

Well, after claiming to be changing over since probably mid April 2010 sometime about the end of August 2010 they finally signed a contract with another company and were no longer going through Alverado but instead were going through Eastland.

Who company was this new contract with. Cebridge. That name sound familar to everyone?

Well almost immediately after that switch things go from plain poor to even worse. Almost, if not all the month of September the service is plagued with continual issues.

I chalked this up to the fact that they were working out the kinks in the systems after the switch over.

Come October things seemed have been ironed out. I am by no means saying that thing were working perfectly in October. But, it was a heck of a lot better than September.

Let's say, barring natural issues (rain, lightning, wind, etc.)I was only experiencing interruptions to my service about 10% of the time. Not good for a cable service. But, for Reach it is almost a god send.

So, it seemed like the last 2 years of misery was at an end.

Sadly, I was far to optimistic.

Right about the beginning of the 2nd week of November and on until today (12/4/2010) Reach has gone backwards to providing less the substandard service.

Again, I am being subjected to multiple outages during they day whether it be peak hours or non peak hours.

Hoping to work around this issue I resorted to attempting to download large, and I mean than relative to Reach's service reliability, files late at night.

1 am, I would have thought would be a good time to attempt this. I was wrong. I have attempted to download a file that is about 650 megs for over a week now. I start it up at about 1 am and the next morning I am greeted by a that not only has not finished download. But, some time during the night has completely died.

I have been told be upper management that the issues lies with something that they are not being allowed to work on at the present time and that it is out of there hands.

More new excuses to pass the buck if you ask me.

So, I need other customers help.

Here is any example of the issue I am experiencing at this time.

I need for other to either to a ping or run what is called a tracert. You can use google, yahoo, or pretty much any major site to do this test.

The steps are go to your start menu if you are running windows. Click on run. Type CMD in the box proviced and hit click ok.

This will bring up the command prompt. There you can input (example) ping www.yahoo.com or tracert www.yahoo.com on the command line then hit enter.

You need to do this when you are experiencing interruptions.

If you do the trace route you will seeing something like this.

I am almost out of character to use. So, I will have to continue this in a response.

The * in the tracert(s) are when there is a complete interruption in service. At that time you are not communicating with the service and it is not communicating with you. Basically your internet is dead at that time.

When you see the message "Unable to resolve target system name www.yahoo.com ." that means that you were not able to establish a connection at the time you initiated either the tracert or the Ping. If this happens keep making attempts until you get at least one valid ping or tracrt.

Please respond to this post with your own pings or tracerts. This will provided documentation that this is not an isolated incident.

BTW, don't click on any of the links. All they will do is redirect you to the services for each providers main site.

De Leon Internet--
From what I am seeing, that tracert is not being dropped by Reach, but rather by yahoo.com . If you would bother to look at the results of your test you would see that the last hop before the interruption is at the yahoo server and the first hop after the interruption is the yahoo server. Before you start spouting off about something it would serve you better to know what you are talking about. The * you say means that you are "basically dead" really mean that you cannot get to that particular server at that time. tracert is a very specific tool and you are trying to use it in a very general way. If you want to prove your point you need to test to multiple locations and be able to see your test dying at the same location in each test.

I hate it when someone thinks they are a computer guru because they can get to the command prompt.

Also, "Unable to resolve target system name www.yahoo.com ." does not mean that you were not able to establish a connection at the time you initiated either the tracert or the Ping. It means that you were unable to resolve DNS to find the correct IP address to try your tracert or Ping. That can be caused by multiple problems either on your PC or on the network, or even on the DNS server that you are currently trying to use. I'll be willing to bet that you can't tell me which DNS server you are using, and it is a simple command prompt tool to find that also.

I've had broadband reach for about 2 years,it works good for the most part, download speeds are decent and upload speeds are good too i guess.the only complaint i have about the service is that sometimes it doesn't wanna work throughout the day.like i'll be on a web page and all of a sudden it doesn't wanna load the next thing i click and i'll just get the "internet explorer cannot display web page".but i've noticed it works great for me late at night and that's when i use the internet most now anyways.i do alot of online gaming and usually wait till after 11 pm to play and play ti'll about 3 am without any interuptions.during the game i'll have full bars the whole time and no disconnections.

you should contact reach and offer to help them with their problems, which they have many, currently i am being told by reach that they can not figure out what is wrong with their service and they have pretty much given up and are waiting for me to suspend service

I know someone who recently called Reach about new service and they were told they weren't accepting any new customers. Doesn't look good. Maybe it's the fact that the internet has went down hundreds of times and they're tired of people calling in to complain.
