During the Tractor Pulls that has already been addressed, one section for coolers one for everyone else. We were caught a little off guard last year when the Police said go ahead and allow coolers in.

Does this mean that Eddie Prado can drive around with an open container of beer legally now?

Since Andre lost his alcohol license and that bar of his is just sitting there, will he now skirt the law and open the bar back up and operate under someone else's likker license?

Will the passing of the alcohol law mean that Allsup's will build a new mega store in DeLeon? I think the grandfather clause will be a little iffy since it wasn't legal to sell alcohol all the time they've been on Texas street and the school next door wasn't there before.

I heard thru the DeLeon gossip machine that Charles Mazurek has purchased the old Mozelle's cafe building on Hwy 6 for the location of his new liquor store. Since the new law would have put his lake store out of business, he's a wise man and will be able to keep those dollars flowing.

had not thought about the shade tree going out of business --- no need to drive there when you can just go to deleon and get your beer and what not ....
Yes i have heard the same thing about Mazurek --- but as of today -- HE HAS NOT purchased the old mozelle cafe building ... must be trying to get his ducks in a row and also get a a liquor license for that location .... There is something (an ad of sorts) in today's De Leon Free Press .... check it out

The beer stores are already showing their blight on the city. Mike Burkeen's beer barn already has trash blowing all over the place and is a constant source of traffic and dust. It sure is lowering real estate values in the neighborhood. Yes, we really need more beer joints.

Andre's bar is back open. I saw in the paper that he was being sued by the DISD over taxes on several properties. This shows the character of the people operating the alcohol establishments.
