Be aware that if you go to Cook Insurance in De Leon to get an estimate for auto insurance, it takes about 15 minutes and they will give you a printout. Look closely, on one line there is a $63 charge for "policy fee". This is the amount they charged you just to get on their computer and find you an insurer. This amounts to over $250 an hour for the time they took to give you an estimate. If you do take their insurance, you will be paying this fee. Of course, if you decline their insurance and go elsewhere, they don't make you pay it. Is this even legal? This is yet another example of how small town residents get screwed from every direction.

What does a bigger town have to do with what one insurance agent charges in relation to another? There's probably a lot of agents that do this. What's wrong with giving people a heads up on something they may not know? I seriously doubt you'll be able to rationalize enough to answer that simple question since you're always in such a rage and all your courage comes from hiding behind your false identity.

Thanks for the info. We all have to buy insurance sooner or later and it really helps to know how much some agents are charging you just to do an online search. Because of this info, I will simply avoid Cook Insurance. I've actually been there before but didn't buy their insurance. I did notice that the lady up front handles everything. If I was a small town insurance agent and a prospective customer walked in the door, I think I would at least greet them. The man in the back office never got up from his chair. Business must be good.
