Of course no one supported him today! Because NO ONE would support a pedophile! And if these charges are not true, then someone is out to ruin this man's life. Until he has been found guilty, let us be sensitive to the people who thought they were supporting a good teacher. They were fooled too and probably feel horrible.

Please support what these kids accomplished! One point away from going to the State Championships. When was the last time the school was anywhere close to going to State for anything? Don't punish the kids for this. They have worked so hard. Hopefully the kids will give the new director, whoever that is a chance, and work just as hard. Has anyone been hired to replace him? It has been over a month now.

There are so many incidents of this going on lately. I wonder if there really is more, or if there always has been and it was just hidden well, or if there is a witch hunt going on because it is so easy to make these sort of claims.

He was a pervert when he worked at Shawnee High School-always saying inappropriate things to the students along with sexual innuendos. Shawnee would probably let him come back and coach track with the other sexual predators they have hired for track in the past.

ChrisM> Sally•a day ago −
Yes, as a parent from Shawnee I witnessed him cursing in front of students and breaking numerous cell phones with his hot temper. He was crazy and a bad role model for students.

Where these girls sisters? That is what I heard.

No, I don't think they are sisters. I know that there are two sisters at the school being bullied because another freshman girl thinks they are. This freshman girl said she would kill herself at school if Shook was not rehired. This does not sound like a stable girl to me.

Time for the school system to start using the "buddy system". This will save a lot of he said she said. It must be an effective system if they've used this for years in the military training system...

Right. Because we all know sexual battery never rakes place in the military.

Go find the statistics of how many sexual assualts between Soldiers and Drill Sergeants, and then we will have this discussion. The buddy system is primarily used on in basic training and advanced training environments, this is to ensure safety of the Soldiers and safety of the Supervisors over them. Again, I say, if it has been a used system for so long it must be pretty effective. And, I am pretty sure that if you do (and I'm sure there are a couple cases out there) find a case of sexual assault between a supervisor and a TRAINEE they were assaulted without a "battle buddy" present. This is a solid idea to implement, but just like anything else it WILL NOT work if those in charge do not hold the teachers or whatever accountable for not following the proper student/teacher protocol.

What does the community have to do with what happens at the school. The community did not say that this needed to happen. If it really did. He has not been found guilty.

I have a daughter in the band and I'm furious at the school for being too cheap to hire a guidance counselor. This whole mess would have ended sooner if the kids had someone to talk to. Shame on riverside. Laughing stock.

Actually, that doesn't sound bad. Or educate the girls and boys to never let themselves be alone. To guard themselves. That's our jobs as parents, though.

Maybe we should take a closer look at the board of education and superintendent. "good ole boys club". they are known for overlooking excellent potential employees only to hire these numbnuts.

Riverside doesn't have a guidance counselor? I wasn't aware of this.

Let's not forget the facts here. He may or may not be guilty. This is Amereica, he gets his day in court.

I have a question for you band parent. If the guy had been at Riverside for a couple years now, and he had the "tradition" of giving birthday spankings, why didn't you question that? There is no way as a parent I would have condoned that. And if you didn't know about that, why not? Did your children (child) not talk to you about school? That should never been allowed. Never. I quarantee he may have given or attempted to give my child one of those traditonal spankings but that would have been his last try with my child. You can bank on that.

That's the gut kicker, I didn't know he gave my son a spanking until this came out. My kid thought it was no big deal. I am pissed as hell!

You are under the impression that the band parents get some sort of sick pleasure out of allowing a pedaphile near their kids? You must be insane. No parent wants that. They don't want a perv near their kids! And they have no power to force the issue. They only thought he was being disciplined for making a point about the grossness about tight pants. That was all! That investigation then gave the police probable cause to look further. The school couldn't fire him for fear he would flee and abuse more kids. Can't you see that?

He didn't spank my girl. If he had, he would no longer have hands. I never heard about these spankings either. That scares me. The control he had over those kids, I never saw it before. He is charismatic, which is why the kids and parents were drawn in, myself included. So relieved my girl was safe.
