I just read where the town is assuming responsiblitity for three trees along 508, that they are going to pay to cut down. Is this the same three trees with the big X"s on them that are in a council members yard? Seems to me these trees belong to the homeowner, and it should be his responsibility to pay to have them removed, or maybe thats one of the perks of being on council and having all your buddies on there too?

The trees are on the easment so they are the towns responibility not the home owners. It has nothing to do with him being on the council.

YEP ITS ALL ABOUT WHO YOU ARE IN THIS LITTLE TOWN. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT ANYONE ELSE BUT IF YOU ARE A COUNCIL MEMBER OR WORK FOR THE TOWN YOU GET OFF EASY. THEY TELL EVERYONE ELSE EVEN THE TREES BEYOND THE SIDEWALKS ARE THEIR RESPONSIBILITY. ANOTHER FUN FACT FROM OUR CROOKED LITTLE TOWN.
If you are an ass kisser to the council or are on the council or city committees you get away with stuff. as far as any of the rest of us we are screwed.

i will have to go look again at these trees but how can a few trees in one yard be the towns responsibility and the other trees that are the same distance from the road be the homeowners? Sounds to me like someone needed some trees cut down and didnt have the funds to do it, so they got the town to say they were their trees...

Although I agree that the property owner probably should be paying for them, they more than likely are in the easement which makes them the responsibility of the village, state, county, etc. Each street in the village may have a different easment width. I'm sure there is a pretty wide easment for a state route to allow for future widening, etc, but a small street in the village more than likely isn't so large. Just my thoughts. Dun't know if this is true or not.

they have tree experts come in and inspect all trees in the village. they have done this for atleast ten years now that i know of. the ones that are bad are marked and cut down. The ones in question are also a huge blindspot for traffic. But i know that doesn't matter to you morons out there. Go complain in person or do you only have a set on the computer.

It seems to me that everytime a comment is made on this site and the comment is truth about the asskicking cliche in this town the "good ole boys" are up in arms. What is that old saying "the truth hurts". When are you big town want to bes face the facts, the residents of this village realize that there is a double standard here. It sickens me to know that the priviledged few receive extra perks and their flaws are overlooked while the others pay the way all the time. Somethings will never change. This town and the cliche will go on thinking it and they are more than what it or they will ever be. Good thing you few have an active imagination.

What about the trees that a town resident cut down on Meade street that wasn't on his property?.. He did it on his own time and didn't ask the town to cut the tree down. He also cleaned it all up and did a fine job!

Only reason he did it was for the free fire wood anyways. It's not like he was doing the village a fovor or something by cutting it down. It was illegal for him to do it without asking permision first too.

Probably because the post I was responding to said he did it on his own time without asking the village you dumbass! You can't just go onto someones property and start cutting trees down without asking! But then again this is DeGraff. Maybe I'll come over to your place tonight and start gathering some firewood for my stove this winter. You won't mind right?
