What is going on with the cheerleading program at the school? Was told the advisor was terminated and they have someone else working with the girls for now. Also heard the girl they cut they went back to and told her if she still wanted to be on the squad she could. If she wasn’t good enough to make the squad the first time around why would she be good enough after they only have 2 cheerleaders for the basketball season. Not to mention I have never heard of any school going around asking girls if they wanted to be on the squad just to try and build numbers (have yet to hear how many they actually got by doing this). Sounds like there are issues over there and think maybe RHS needs to rebuild their cheer program.

Maybe the girls are interested in cheerleading anymore and they would rather play sports, work, or go to college.
no wonder

No wonder after the way you all trash talked on here about the cheerleader last year that was expecting. You people are mean.

Thats funny, a few years ago, some girls got cut and when they had repeat tryouts they still didnt make it, oh wait, the A.D. had something to do with that, didnt she?
seriously

Did she really have something to do with it, or is it just speculation? Why would they ask the girls to try out again and still cut them. Doesn't make sense to me. Not saying it didn't happen, but it seems counterproductie to me.

1, The coach was not terminated.
2, They have more than 2 girls.
3, The AD is doing her job very well.

No they are not wrong, the advisor was the speech teacher and she was let go(that was told during a meeting for my son at the school). Patty has been helping out till she either wants the job or they find someone else. Only 2 girls originally made the squad, they then went around asking other girls if they wanted to be on the squad and I know 1 who did not try out and is now on the squad, and they did go back to the girl that was cut and told her if she still wanted to be on the squad she could. I agree it is crazy how people bash on the cheerleaders,However I agree with the pregnant cheerleader should not have been cheering.(However that is in the past and the child is here and she is still cheering so that subject is a mute subject). Good luck to all the cheerleaders with a community like this they need all the luck they can get.

As a parent of cheerleaders, I voiced my concerns to the school itself. I asked my questions and had them answered. This site has been very toxic to the community. No man, woman, or CHILD is safe from the cyber bullies in this community. I have to get on here regularly to check if one of my children or another family member has become the topic of the day. Today, low and behold a thread has started that has the potential to hurt more children and families at Riverside. I thank the posters who have supported the cheerleaders and hope that everyone would continue to support all the children at Riverside...win or lose and regardless of who they are. I can honestly say that I have not agreed with some of the things happening with the squads this year, but please, rather than asking questions on this site and getting wrong information and half truths, please do as I have done and request the answers to your questions from the school.

If you don't give this site much merit, why do you get on here to check to see if your family is on here? If I were you, I wouldn't even check it since the site is "so toxic".

You come on here to check about your family, but yet you can't put your name on here, hmm maybe its because you yourself start some of the threads

What you say has very good points, however you do not no it all. There was never just two girls on the squad there was 7 or 8 for football and 5 for basketball, maybe you are thinking of another school.

They said more made the squad but decided not to cheer for one reason or another and left them with only 2 on the basketball squad. They went to the girls that cheered football and asked if any of them wanted to cheer basketball and back to the girl that was cut and then around school. They also said RN was going to be the basketball cheer advisor.

To youaresowrong, If everyone is wrong then set the record straight.

Are you kidding me, they went and ASK girls to be on the squad? That is a new one, I bet RHS is the only school that would ever do that. SO what, the girls quit, the advisor quit, do away with the cheerleaders all together, they really aren't that good, they dont get the crowd involved, they fight amongst themsevles, and its just an embarrasement.

There are a bunch of new girls that tried out yesterday, so who says that those girls will fight with eachother, and you know, girls are girls, they'll fight over stupid stuff, but they can still work as a team, it's not about how good they are at it, it's about if they really wanna be there, so instead of bashing them, let's support the cheerleaders ??

ITs not about how good they are at it? OMG, that is exaclety why the cheerleaders from other schools and the fans make fun of them!

im assuming one of her parents is involved with the school or an ass kisser. thats why she was told she could be on the squad if she wanted. someone complained and she got her way.
