Perhaps his issue is with trees and not people. I think he likes them too much to hurt them with things like pruning saws, chain saws and other instruments of tree torture. He means well. He wants to cut the trees, he just can't bring himself to do it. He is probably into Jainism.

As the wife of someone who owns a reputable tree service, he NEVER asks for any money upfront. No money is exchanged untill the job is complete. Anyone asking for money BEFORE doing any work is surely questionable...

It's good to shine some light on crooked contractors. After everyone gets their refunds, send him to jail for a while.

If the company in question doesn't have a licensed arborist, they can't prune, only remove. The Connecticut Tree Protective Association keeps a record of those who are properly licensed. Why would you pay a contractor up-front to do this kind of work? It's not like there are materials to purchase.

You NEVER pay upfront! Not in today's society, sorry. My boyfriend is a Builder and he never gets paid upfront...he chases his money though because either the Homeowner doesn't pay when the job is done or, whomever he was hired from to do the work, they don't pay him on a weekly basis or after the job is complete either. It sometimes takes weeks! I don't think that's right either so, take it at face value I guess. FYI get references for any work you need done. It's been advertised on TV lots of times. Get references.

david dixon was supposed to do some work for us last april and took 1400. 00 dollars upfront and never showed up to do the work and never gave us our money back. He also did the same to, two of our neighbors. I have a court case agianst him and he was ordered to pay back the money and still has not and refuses to show up for court. I am still fighting the case and hope to win.

The man at the door of the house the reporter went to was david dixon and he does live there with his wife and three children, if he can't be honest about who he is then he obviously won't be honest about the work he does and for those of you he stiffed i hope you get every dime back.
