It remains questionable as a matter of ethics who will be held responsible for code enforcement issues. The responsibility does belong to the previous owner for not correcting the problem. However it becomes a legal battle, when the property is seized by the government and they want the reported $200.000 in code violations. Aloha Trailer Park became government property [in limbo] caused by delinquent tax payments over a number of years. The property has since [March 2013] become the dispute over who is responsible for code violations with Magnolia L.L.C. who should not be held responsible. The tax limbo has the previous owner unable to pay the code enforcement violations that has been a legal battle the result of which will cost taxpayers more money.

Laurie Burke, a former employee of Daytona State College was terminated after being charge with a D.U.I. Burke told the arresting officer that she was very good friends with Chief Chitwood. Her demeanor was not cooperative [ common behavior for a D.U.I charge. Burke attempted to bribe the officer How about a check for $2000 right now. It didn't work. She is charged with attempted bribery. Chief Chitwood said he doesn't know Laurie Burke. Proof has to be there before any accusations of bribery are made. Law enforcement reputation will suffer as a result of rumors. Assumption can be made leading to other ideas. Without proof you have nothing. just the idea that the D.B.P.D won't do anything. You don't want that because then everybody would pay the price for your opinion.

I will give you credit. You know that Code Enforcement is on the take in S. Daytona including the former Mayor and a few others, but you wont acknowledge that Daytona is just as corrupt.
Daytona is the only City that I know of that has Code Enforcement that is made up of Police Officers. What do Police know about Code Enforcement,,,
Was the mobile home park really a Code Enforcement problem or a political game.....
Actually, its called inverse condemnation as opposed to eminent domain. A wrongful taking by the City of Daytona in that they want the property but did not want to compensate the owner for it.
Instead they harassed him to death as opposed to exerting any efforts for assistance through the Police(Code Enforcement Officer).
If the owner was a drug dealer - how easy that would be to shut down the park. Crime actually went down in the area. Funny, across the street the houses were owned by a Police Officer, but he was never harassed.
By the way, the irony is that the park contains Osprey, a protected species in Florida.
I am beginning to like you. Your catching on.
Police officers in S. Daytona were the drug dealers. Did you know at least one officer was selling large amounts of pain killers.
Was the owner really not doing his job or the City...
From what understand Mr. Jafroodi has a very good reputation in turning around non-performing or troubled properties all over Central Florida with the exception of two cities that you mention.
Did you know Chitwood gets paid 160,000 a year to "run" a drug infested City. However, Chitwood lives in Port Orange. Ha! Interestly, his brother runs the Speedway. Who is Chitwood really employed by.
Mayor Henry could change things if he wasn't constantly harassed also; maybe, because he is black. Interestingly, Mr. Jafroodi in an article involving S. Daytona comments in the News Journal Article that a lot of the problems are racially motivated.
The Code Enforcement Office and, therefore, the Police Department need to be investigated. Bribes is among the least of there criminal and strong arm tactics.
Residency restrictions are the responsibility of county government. Close proximity is allowed. Although Donnie Moore is a Holly Hill government official Moore does live in Ormond Beach. Joyce Cusack is a county commissioner and resides in Deland. These are not issues. Derrick Henry owned a house that went into foreclosure and bought a brand new house before the other house was sold= That's questionable. Jeff Hentz was fired after it was discovered that he used tax dollars to afford trips to Europe. He didn't resign or receive severance pay. No one has proven as fact that Mike Chitwood is related to Joie Chitwood. It's been denied- it hasn't been proven.

The property issues in Volusia County are never resolved with any type of results. A government assistance office on Beach Street that blames the homeless for not making improvements, and questions how to deal with the on going problem. Pat Northey doesn't want to build a homeless shelter for people that commit minor crimes, her opinion was asking someone how it will be cost effective in saving money for the legal system. In her own words on the radio- We- have a jail to run. There's more money in not building a facility. Pending lawsuits [frivolous lawsuits] raise taxes and jeopardize the court system. The judicial system is paralyzed by the corruption of lawsuits 3 or four times a year. Everybody in Daytona Beach that works the system can't be victimized with an expense to people who just want what is for the best. It works that way now because it isn't working.
Its very simple - it a corrupt City. They call it Dirtona for a reason. My God, have you ever really looked into Chitwood's background. He is quick to call everyone a scum bag. What the statement about calling the kettle black...

You should choose your battles carefully instead of looking for a fight that isn't there. Drugs were found on the property. The owner faced drug charges... the land was seized by the government for delinquent taxes over a number of years. Government is irresponsible with tax money [that's the corruption] Daytona Beach government is under federal investigation [Ballot fraud- Money Laundering- receiving in kind contributions] real estate fraud- [That's corruption] Judge Joseph Will presides over drug prosecution cases based on previous verdicts=that's corruption- Sheriff Ben Johnson- notorious for placing different officers from other areas of the county in cities in another part of the county-that's corruption. Government officials and government city employees retire with excessive pensions and receive jobs in different areas of the county- R.J, Larizza has been ridiculed and is now suspect in the federal investigation for committing fraud based on in kind contributions [That's corruption] There has to be evidence of corruption not just pointing a finger at the chief of police from people who have criminal records it doesn't work that way. Scumbag is not and never has been a racist remark. You need to base your opinion on something besides the idea of this is what I think.

Although Derrick Henry is currently facing ballot fraud issue for the second time- and the city is facing numerous allegations including being held accountable for misusing $10.5 million when the pier was under construction and Henry was an active member of the Daytona beach City Commission and despite the idea that a serious crime was committed on his fathers property and the information is being withheld. Despite the fact that the mayor has to approve internal investigations into police and fire department activities and the publics right to know is completely ignored and tax dollars are wasted without an answer= Or that City Manager Jim Chisholm has disappeared from the newspaper articles after it was written that he was looking for another job anyway. Derrick Henry ['Could do a good job if just wasn't harassed because although people without racist attitudes have to suffer it's the people with racist attitudes that don't know the facts and use the idea as an excuse.

Former Bethune Cookman President Trudie Kibbe Reed accused Chief Chitwood of being a racist [after] a serious fight broke out at the university. Kibbe Reed demanded a televised public apology. Kibbe Reeds racial issues included asking the police department to allow Bethune Cookman University to have their own police department [after publicly accepting that apology. Kibbe Reed made that request to African American county council member Joyce Cusack along with the request for the public apology. Shortly thereafter Kibbe Reed remodeled the home of the universities founder. After acknowledging that it would be cheaper to tear down the current structure. $300.000 was allegedly given by the state- $200.000 was given by the city of Daytona Beach $150.000 was donated by a company at 1450 Nova Rd. which at that time was an abandoned building. $100.000 was given by a company that doesn't exist in Bunnell. $750.000 for home that was easier and cheaper to tear down and rebuild. One year later Kibbe Reed was honored at the Daytona Beach Yacht Club with Derrick Henry as acting Mayor- It was Kibbe Reeds retirement party.

Issues surrounding the trailer park on Riverside Drive have the residents concerned, The owner of M.G. Towers [Bret Dill] wants the property to build an addition. The units in M.G. Tower have been in financial trouble for a number of years under previous owner George Anderson. The mayor of Holly Hill has mentioned plans of making the trailer park into a retention pond. City Manager Jim McCroskey entered the private property without permission. The owner argued with the McCroskey who replied you' Don't Know me. The owner answered I know All about YOU! the owner also mentioned that he was pushed by McCroskey [mentioned by the owner-on the radio] formal charges have been filed against McCroskey

Volusia- Osceola- and Orange County remain questionable over land disputes involving real estate fraud and government interests in money laundering thru political favors [in kind contributions. ] Don't make the mistake of believing that this is limited to 26 miles. There are problems outside of Ocala that you don't know about- that include illegal use of properties by intimidation.

As far as THIS issue of thread subject, Ocala is every bit as corrupt as surrounding areas that others are speaking of and are concerned about, so the fact that THIS thread is on the OCALA board is very much relevant.

Physical violence provoked by emotional anger is a sign of mental weakness. There is no guarantee that if someone were to do what you're telling them to do that it would put you in a position of superiority. You're just trying too hard to put them in a position of insecurity because you want to get rid of it yourself.

There was no mention of physical violence, anywhere. Your statement is null and void. I have no insecurities, perhaps you are referring to yourself?
