Last week on my way home i saw what looked like a panther on Whiteview right before ravenwood. Thought it was a deer but when the head came up it looked like a panther. I turned around to look again and it walked into the shadows and i could see it. Didnt think they were in that area but after reading posts of sightings in FEB. i am certain it was.

We live in L section of Palm Coast. Multiple sightings. One in particular walks down our street just about once a week in the evenings at same time. 3 neighbors have seen it multiple times. We also have a lot of bobcats. And 2 streets over folks have seen one lying in their yard several times. I saw one on creek edge that runs across Matanzas Parkway 1 evening. They aren't as rare anymore.

There are schools EVERYWHERE! The Panther is in more danger than the kids.
Stop freaking out, the cat will not attack. They are more afraid of a human. You should be more worried about another human hurting your kids than a panther. People like you are why panthers will be extinct.

Black panther spotted at dusk in our neighborhood. Neighbors have seen the regular beige ones near the lake and woods they live on. How dangerous are these animals? We live north on. Tuttle ave. in Sarasota.

We live off Forest Ridge Blvd. across from Twisted Oaks golf course and, for the last couple of years now, numerous neighbors have seen a panther (big cat!) lurking around at night/early morning & going in and out between houses in the Oak Wood Village neighborhood. It makes everyone's dogs start barking, too.

I beg to differ with you, they most certainly WILL attack that which is not their normal prey IF the source of their food has been drastically depleted.
This can happen thru overdevelopment of land they roam on and their resources are now practically nonexistent! This in turn gives them NO other choice but to hunt that which is now abundant! I.E. your pets (dogs, cats, and livestock INCLUDING HORSES) and of course PEOPLE! THE STATISTICS PROVE THESE FACTS! AND THE REASON WE HAVE NOT SEEN MORE ABUNDANT ATTACKS FROM THESE CATS HAS BEEN DO ONLY TO THE FACT THAT THEY THEMSELVES HAVE BEEN HUNTED ONTO THE ENDANGERED SPECIES LIST! PLEASE LEARN THE FACTS!

That's not true, I was told that as well and I believed it. But a couple years ago in Ormond Beach there was a dead black panther on the side of the road. So there is Black Panthers in Florida

Saw one yesterday at 7:30 a.m. in North Port off Chamberlin and Hillsborough. Didn't realize what it was until it was almost back in the woods. Didn't get a picture, but it's burned in my memory and pretty positive it was a panther. Definitely not a bobcat and way too huge for a house cat.
Ive seen that black panther in north port too

I live in Riverview, FL in a somewhat new development and was literally just outside smoking a cigarette when I saw a large cat which from what pictures I have seen, looks like a Panther. It was walking on the sidewalk next to my home. The tail however was bobbed but it was much larger than a bobcat. It is still dark outside but it appeared to be tan in color, and 4-5 ft in length with very long legs. Very cool to see but totally unexpected! I've lived here 4 years and the most wild thing I've seen is a snake and your occasional possum!
