Reports of motorcycle accidents every year twice a year, did not stop the city commission, from extending both bike events to 10 days. Arguments that cars are responsible for those accidents in large part after attendance numbers of five hundred thousand people raises questions of prejudice against motorist in a widely populated area consisting mostly of bikers. Reports of vendors from out of town, taking money without any realistic contribution to the local economy, brings the same people back again, because if they don't get it by now they are just stupid selfish & evil. Drug dens like Sharks lounge that cater to prostitution courtesy of a corrupt system, is open on behalf of every biker, that comes to Daytona, regardless of weather they claim it isn't their intent. It's a contribution to money laundering operation regardless of where the money is spent. For the sake of enough money that might last the rest of the year, reports are conflicting on how much goes to local business. This idea of fun for people who claim they have no idea just want to take advantage of the corruption. Out of town vendors will raise their prices as they see fit, and lower them to move the merchandise. Complaints from local year round business on main street were ignored by building ideas around Beach street. Locals are left with bitter feelings the rest of the year, sometimes to the point of telling others to stay away. Meanwhile they can't stop this idea of people thinking that it's fun for them to support corruption.

Joe is right. It turns the area into a big who** that will allow anything for money.

The biggest part of the point being that vendors are not only cheating local business, they are cheating the people that do business, the vendors, only to have the money given to people of primary interest in Main Street. After the incident where David Summers was beaten by former [city permit official] Mark Criswell Theresa Doan had several complaints, & the city commission, wanted to down play the entire incident. Beach Street was always a part of the attraction, but the Harley Davidson Museum would draw people away, as would tearing down the Lloyd dealership only to make more room for more vendors. Theresa Doan's complaints were met so that when, bikers buy from vendors on Main Street [which is Doan's primary interest, costs can be adjusted according to her, to compensate for the business that went to Beach Street= People are getting ripped off!

Vendors will complain about other vendors mixing their prices claiming that if they want to do business then it has to apply across the board. The vendors on the lot of the old Lloyd dealership could also belong to Doan as a compensation. The city commissions misfortune has turned into profit. Once again at an expense to the taxpayer, and people who just want to have fun.

The Daytona Beach News Journal wrote a somewhat conflicting article, about The Halifax Advertising Authority, Theresa Doan was allegedly turn down as a board member. Not appearing on camera when speaking at a board meeting would certainly lend to the idea, that if Doan is there no one knows. Claiming that Doan is not a member, would be attempting to remove any suspicions about the price adjustments.
