People who believe "Dinosaurs never existed, God put those fossils there to test our faith in Him!" absolutely terrify me.

OMG. I was raised a Christian. Thank GOD I'm recovering.:)
I have a question? Who do you Christians think is the great deceiver? Who? That's right, Satan! That's what you're taught, right? I know I was.
But wait, if God put fossils there to deceive us, than who's REALLY the great deceiver? Maybe you're putting your faith in the wrong being!

You're quite right that acceptance of science does not preclude acceptance of a god,or supernatural force, and by supernatural I mean beyond our current and or possible understanding. However I think when it is said that science and religion are incompatible, I think by religion it is meant ' a religion', that is to say a theology of some sort. Clearly a worldview based on the need for evidence is incompatible with one based on revelation and prophecy . An atheist is one who is anti theocratic, I believe correctly so. However as a subscriber to the scientific worldview, I cannot say that their is no god, simply that i see know evidence for such a entity and feel it highly unlikely that any will ever be found.

FACT: Christians, Catholics, and other religious fanatics who say that Scientists don't know what they are talking about, are hypocrites. They benefit from technology every day when they get in their car and go to work, and use their computers to check their email. If Scientists didn't know what they were talking about, we wouldn't have ANYTHING but our natural instincts to kill things for food and mate with the opposite sex.
However, who's to say that God didn't create science? You can't argue that Science doesn't exist, because we have clear evidence that it does. But you also can't argue that there isn't a higher form of power who created our world and gave it science. There's no way of knowing..
FACT: Every theory of how the universe was created, is just that; A THEORY! The truth is, we are so far away from discovering all there is to discover about our planet, let alone our universe, that there is NO WAY scientists can have any idea whether there is actually a God or not.
But... you're pretty ignorant if you believe in the Christian version of God. I do believe there is a higher power, but organized religion just flat out doesn't make sense.. there's no way of knowing. Christians will tell you: "That's the point, you're supposed to have faith." Then I'm forced to ask: "But where are you GETTING THIS FROM? If no one knows for sure, then who is coming up with the stuff we're supposed to be having faith in?" People who follow religion blindly and don't believe in Science or Dinosaurs despite all of the evidence to the contrary are brainwashed and ignorant. A hundred years ago we didn't know what computers were, and we would have thought the idea impossible. Now, we know that it is possible to make a machine that allows us to talk to each other from all over the world, like we're doing now. Yet, you think that because we haven't seen dinosaurs, and because they contradict with your religion which is based on "faith", dinosaurs most not exist? That's INSANE. That's like saying that Earth is the only planet with life on it (it is mathematically impossible for us to be the only planet with life. Everything in the universe has patterns -- if it exists in one place, it will exist in several others. That includes planets like Earth).
But, people who say that some form of a god doesn't exist because of Science are going against the very rules of Science: Nothing is true unless it has been completely and absolutely proven in every way, and we have in no way proven that it is impossible for a God to have existed.

God sam mudder heffer! What can you do for the people who came into this world through the church institutions and have no other belief as it is late to change them? It seems you have to kill a dead god for them to get them to praise money instead. That gonna work? Me thinks no. Money. Money says you are as guilty as the binder you oppose. A god.

Condensed break down version of above:

What a bunch of whacko's & nutjobs. I cannot believe how gullible people are when it comes to religion.
Creationism? You have to be joking. Just accept that because we do not have an answer for the question, there is no need to just invent one - as in making up a god. In ancient times, the word god probably meant "i don't know'.

Stop ignoring science you stupid people and go and read a bloody book. Not The Bible either..

here's some lovely quotes from The Bible by the way:

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife.

Exodus 21:7-11

A marriage shall be considered valid only if the wife is a virgin. If the wife is not a virgin, she shall be executed.

Deuteronomy 22:13-21

When two men are fighting and the wife of one of them intervenes to drag her husband clear of his opponent, if she puts out her hand and catches hold of the man by his privates, you must cut off her hand and show her no mercy

Genesis 19:8

No man whose testicles have been crushed or whose organ has been cut off may become a member of the Assembly of God.

Leviticus 24:16

Behold, I will corrupt your seed and spread dung upon your faces

Malachi 2:3

Please don't throw all of us under the bus because of these headlines. The fact is, I am Christian and I certainly do not believe in this nor do the people I converse with. I think most Christians do not believe in this nonsense either. It's simply the case of the media only reporting on the most crazy stories they can get their hands on.

If you're crazy or you have a highly controversial ideology, then welcome to the spotlight of the international media.

I also don't think it's very nice to say that a person with religious beliefs is an idiot. Having a religion can be very beneficial, as long as it doesn't get in the way of critical reasoning. For instance, I find it very helpful to think that, no matter how bad things become there is always hope and someone there who will listen and love me; as cheesy as that sounds. Why is that a bad thing?

And although some would argue that religion is the main reason for starting crusades and wars, I would argue that the reason is lack of tolerance. To further that line of questioning, to say that 'lack of tolerance' is what religion teaches, just know that I certainly do not fall in line with that group.

Obviously stars explode and dust settles in a sphere shape spinning round the sun that created it cooling to form a planet. That's what they do. We know this from Astronomy. To say that God created this correlation to test us is ridiculous. The bible contradicts this theory (Genesis 1:6). It's not true! There's NO GOD!
