When is this county ,city and every other government agency going to get responsible with taxpayers money? Public sector jobs are now becoming entitlements . Private sector has to adjust and adapt to the ever changing ecomonic climate but our governments just keep spending and try to raise taxes to cover irresponsible governing. The old story of attracting good workers is no longer viable and has always been political. Now we need to get to reality and get our public sector back on track doing what government should be doing at a reasonable price since we are all paying the bills . We all have to adjust our budgets when money is short but not our governments? Private sector has to reorganize and break contracts to compete but not the people ? It is our money and it should be spent wisely and effectively . No tax increase or fees without budget reform and accountability .

In 2010 a retired chief for the Port Orange Fire Dept. collected a reported %70 of his pay. Then he was given a job working for the Deland Fire Department. Fire Departments need to be on a volunteer basis throughout the county. South Daytona is raising taxes -again-!
