This article is BS, It's was not that busy. The Granada ramp if backed up at all was because of soft sand not excessive beach goers. AND the mother of the child even said it was HER FAULT for not paying close enough attention. I live on the beach and saw more speeding than anything. how many tickets were issued on the beach last weekend for that?

They were too busy saving people from the rip currents to bother with tickets. The World's Most Dangerous Beach is what it should be called. An awful place with cars and rips.

Under the guidelines of parks & recreation the beach belongs to the state not the government or the people. The same manipulative rules in county government apply to A1-A [state road] waiting on the decision of allowing for cars on the beach will not come from the city commission or the residents of Volusia County by voting. It's how the city controls the tax base. The county manager is responsible for he final decision. and that has to stop
