FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: October 26, 2009 Ekon Energy Management Group LLC http://www.ekongroup.com Contact: Monifa Reel Media Relations Representative (888) 212.9620 mreel@ekongroup.com EKON GROUP MONITORS ENERGY CONSUMPTION FOR ‘GREEN’ CITY OF SOUTH DAYTONA SOUTH DAYTONA – The City of South Daytona has recently joined with Ekon Energy Management Group to implement a technical approach to its commitment in becoming an environmentally healthy and economically sustainable community. The community of 13,000 residents was recently designated as a Green Local Government Gold Level, by the Florida Green Building Coalition. Utilizing Ekon’s programs to analyze current energy use and identify cost saving solutions is a natural progression in the City’s mission to become a greener community, said Jeanne Willard, Public Information Officer.“This is an ongoing process that requires a comprehensive approach,” she said.“Energy conservation not only saves money, it has a major effect on global carbon emissions.” City officials, looking for ways to reduce energy consumption, were impressed with Ekon Group’s EnergyMaps™, a unique energy saving program designed to deliver dramatic results in a cost effective way. Installation at South Daytona Municipal Complex has just been completed for the first phase of the EnergyMaps program called Eniscope. Eniscope is a highly technical advanced energy meter which will allow Ekon and City Engineers to access comprehensive “real time” and “historical” energy data across all City Hall buildings. Presently, buildings in the United States alone, account for 72 percent of energy consumption and 39 percent of energy use. Decreasing Florida’s overall usage, one city at a time, can make a profound impact on overall consumption nationwide, Ekon officials said. Ekon Group is a growing organization of Energy Saving Professionals dedicated to helping others reduce energy demand and consumption, which in turn, reduces costs and CO2 emissions associated with energy production. Any forward thinking organization that wishes to take a responsible attitude toward energy consumption and the environment – and significantly reduce over head costs in the process – can benefit from EnergyMaps. ### |

I love the way South Daytona is setting an example and "paving the road" so to speak in the energy savings arena...stepping up to the plate in trying to reduce energy consumption is an important issue that everyone should address. Lets hope that the rest of Volusia county, and the nation, gets on board with this energy savings concept!!!!!! My hat goes off to the Ekon Energy Management team! Great work!
