If you are like me, and reading my post- you have no doubt had your fill of Governor Rick Scotts new "Re-Employ Florida" Connect website and all the frustration that has become of it. I lost my job on Oct 5, 2013- I applied the next day online. I had no trouble,(as I now know many have) Filing my claim, or claiming my weeks. However, I have yet to receive a dime!

I have called, MANY times, and was informed that my case was still being "processed". After 2 weeks, and filing my weeks again, I called to get a status update, skip to now- I have done this 3 more times, NOW- I am told, MANY, MANY calls later to try and get through to a live person- I was told that my case has been sent for adjudication, and still had not been determined! I was told they would send an email to the adjudication dept. asking to expedite my case. I was told to wait 14 days, if I had not received an answer to call back and they would send ANOTHER email to have it expedited. She informed me yesterday, that I had to do this 3 times, before it would go to a supervisor, and there was no time frame for an answer past that point! THIS IS UNEXEPTABLE! I urge you to share the info below and follow the directions if you are having the same problem. We deserve to get our money! Do not give up! This is why the Unemployment poll numbers are so low! It is critical to make your voice known! Under employed is NOT an option, and while you and I are doing our due diligence to find work, that will pay us a fair wage- we SHOULD NOT have to deal with Government either by the state, nor on the Federal level! I hope this gives you some inspiration to speak out and shake up the State of Florida and how they do business!

"I Just called and was helped in filing an official complaint , They call it an R & R. It goes to a member of the Department of Labor staff, and they are supposed to get back with you within a week or so. The Lady was very helpful and read back to me the email she sent. I Highly advise as many people as possible to call this number and request to file a complaint with the Florida DEO Unemployment division! We deserve to get paid! You NEED to file a FEDERAL COMPLAINT by calling USDOL at 1-866-487-9243. At first they will try and refer you back to Florida DEO, Tell them NO you want to file an OFFICIAL COMPLAINT about Florida DEO Connect Unemployment System."

Sincerely,

Thank you so much for your determination and candid post regarding the FL DEO Unemployment. I filed on September 21 and have yet to have a 'determination'. On 11/24/13 (a Sunday), I got through to a very nice worker who talked with his supervisor during this call. They discovered that my file had been sitting in adjudication for several weeks without an assigned adjudicator. This supervisor sent an 'email' to this department, asking that my file be assigned to someone. The worker with whom I spoke intially told me he would call me back in two days and also later to keep me posted. This didn't happen. Fortunately, I did get his name. But, I feel like both of you. I have gotten the runaround so many times, it's totally frustrating and drifting into the realm of absurdity.
I am delighted to learn that there is a stopping point where we can actually file a complaint and perhaps something will get done. I never, ever thought that Florida would be this inept in the running of their governmental agencies. I just keep thinking about these workers and the same old adage permeates my thoughts---if the shoe was on the other foot, wonder how they'd feel? And this also goes for the way some of the workers address clients: rudely.
So thanks, and good luck with your efforts to receive your unemployment.

I was told the exact same thing! Wait wait wait I have been waiting since September. Every week when I call in they say maybe next week. I've had 3 reps send emails to the adjudication dept 1 supervisor sent an email to the adjudication dot. And now that they see the whole time it's been a technical issue I have had two supervisors send emails to the technical dpt. I have been looking for a complaint dpt forever thank you!!!

Your approach is a set up for failure. Telephones intentionally keep people waiting on the line because that don't want to deal with it. Government offices have set up defense tactics for not dealing with public issues. When the lines are closed off you get a a recorded message because a recorded message shuts down communication. We're ----sorry-[no their not] all of our lines are busy [with recorded messages] because when someone does pick up the phone they have to tell you what they tell everybody- their too busy telling everybody the same thing and don't have time to help you. Meanwhile you see this as personal because you need help. You're a number not a name. You're a voice not a person with feelings to them. You should be offended that's why the feelings become personal. You don't allow government employees to do this to you it just happens. Because another approach hasn't been proven to be effective. You send them an email- they don't have to read it they just have to reply. They reply until their sick of it. And you're picking a fight with somebody that's pissed off for living.

I'm also in the same boat as you...I initially filed for unemployment 11/20/13 and am still awaiting payment although everything should've processed....each time i call DEO I'm told that an email has been submitted and to allow 2 weeks for them to process....then when I call back I'm told another email has been submitted and to allow 2 weeks....if they do this enough then a year would have passed...(no pun intended)

It's an observation not a personal problem. It's about letting other people know that they are trapped inside of a problem, without a solution and sharing information with others without solving the problem. 10 people can do this without a solution. People need to talk to each other not at each other. You are one of those people.

You can thank the scumbag named Rick Scott for all this mess for messing around with people's unemployment money. He doesn't care because he is paid by the taxpayers and will always get his salary.

He's cutting alot of assistance programs for people in need, like food assistance etc. Unfortunately, he's going after all the programs the poor need and utilize, and not cutting expenses at the top, with the people that can better afford the cuts. He needs to cut areas of the govt that are spending the most money, which he is not doing. Yes I would agree he's a scumbag unfortunately.

Login to show that I found a job, and that generated 8 times more difficult questions then claiming I am not working. The site is not made for someone that is reporting that they have found work. I gave up.
