What is this supposed to mean? Harley-Davidson wouldn't be where there if it wasn't for the "outlaw" types. Shame on Karen Davidson for pigeon holing the "typical Harley customer/image"

I agree Michelle....Karen and the rest of her rollex rangers have no idea what riding and being a biker was like back in the day.....nothing but t-shirt cowboys now!!!!

I have to laugh at these middle age dentists, and 30 somethings with an obvious sense of misplaced self importance, riding around on bikes with no mufflers, and acting out some kind of Sonny Barger/James Dean fantasy. Probably just an epidemic of small penis syndrome, I'm guessing. Sure, they're not the real deal--but they are mostly harmless.

And, as I said, they're good for a chuckle. I was behind one the other day wearing a t-shirt reading, "I'd rather see my sister in a whore house than my brother on a Jap bike."

Buying a bike is "empowering"? In case you haven't heard Karen, women can vote now too.

Karen you single handedly shoved women riders back at least 45 years, and male riders back 65 years. Ridning really is a sport and enjoyable.

What gives ? I thought bikers would be the last ones to be a bunch of judgemental A-holes ! I'm middle age , I don't live on my bike , I have a job , a home ,a wife and kids ,I ride when I can . I like to go out with my buddies , drink a beer and just ride my favorite haunts and see some new places when I can ! For a short while I'm free . I have a collection of Harley or bike related T-shirts among my other T-shirts that also represent my other intrests . My bike is pretty loud but so is my truck , I guess it's an old hot rodding thing as for the size of my dick I've never had a complaint and it makes me happy ! Maybe you need to post an application with requirements for what you consider to be a respectable bike and see who gives a crap !

Yep, riding motocycles is pretty empowering for some women. Pretty dang scary for me when I see some 400 pound sow riding in the next lane. Truck or not I just pray they don't fall over on me.

A real biker has prison tats (that's with no color), no visable means of financial support other than his woman, a criminal reacord, and rides a Harley that he built and customizeded himself.
A motorcyclist has no tats, a job, family, home knows a good mechanic and will ride anything that has two wheels.
So you want to be a biker, too late.
Women and most others didn't start riding till electric starters.

Lighten up, Old Schooler. Nothing wrong with what your doing (easy on the beers, though). Nothing wrong with being judgmental, either--that's what humans do best. It is funny, however, to see these guys (maybe not you) dressing up like loser hoodlums on the weekend. My erstwhile neighbor and his wife were weekend bikers. She told me it was like dressing up for Halloween. On the other hand, bikes need mufflers--and don't give me the "loud pipes save lives" nonsense. Psychologically, it's only guys who want to be noticed in their ersatz Sonny Barger play act.

I don't buy into the loud pipes saves lives thing either . I do however subscribe to the More air and fuel in more exaust out makes horsepower . That holds true to a point some engines require some back pressure to get the most H.P. out of them . That is Old hot rod tech . Besides most are no louder than the average cement mixer or semi on the road ! The trick is to be responsible and a good neighbor and keep it down in residential areas or places it would be disruptive . I don't live to impress anyone but myself . If it makes me happy and doesn't hurt anyone else sorry if you don't like it . I'm not a gang(sorry motorcycle club) fan either , Sonny Bargers not a role model for me .

True, but you don't see packs of cement mixers revving it up downtown, and in neighborhoods. Anyhow, I'm guessing that even Barger is mellow with age, by now...

Are you serious ? Do you even drive ? There are almost as many semis on the road as SUVs ! I also said "The trick is to be responsible and a good neighbor and keep it down in residential areas or places it would be disruptive . I don't live to impress anyone but myself . If it makes me happy and doesn't hurt anyone else sorry if you don't like it . " Sad on your part if you missed the whole point of that message !

OS: Are you serious ? Do you even drive ? There are almost as many semis on the road as SUVs !

Most people forgive the noise from semis, since they are working vehicles, and no one, as far as I know, intentionally makes their semi louder than necessary. I'm not sure what SUVs have to do with anything.
