The record for motorcycle related deaths in Volusia County is 21. 12 out of 13 deaths have been caused by the motorcyclist. Financial expert Evelyn Fine reported that attendance records for either bike event are extremely exaggerated. News of the beating of David Summers by former city permit official Mark Criswell changed those attendance numbers. Drug/prostitution raids in the weeks before either event are greater expense to the tax payer. Brown & Brown Insurance Company is being investigated for insurance fraud as part of an investigation of misuse of Medicare funds connected to Halifax Hospital.

A private medical organization in New Smyrna Beach promoted as an affordable care act is channeling tax dollars thru religious organization to Daytona Beach. The focus of this investigation is the C.E.O. of Halifax Health= Jeffry Feasel. An attempted merger between Halifax health Care and New Smyrna Beach Hospital points to N.S.B. philanthropist Bert Fish.
