this can't be Eleanor Brown's son is it? I hope not because she raised her kids to be so much more than that. not trying to start rumors, etc, just really want to know exactly who this guy is. I hate it that he is in the hospital but I hate it more for the people he swindled out of their hard earned money. it just doesn't pay to trust any one with your money.people are too greedy now days!do not trust anyone with your money----------

First of all do not answer my questions with religious scripture and the usual dogooder bs! What were the financial and business credentials of this man that made him an expert on investing the money of others? Was it the fact that he was a good christian man who knew how to prepare taxes? Did he send out monthly or quarterly statements to these "victims" outlining the loss and gain of their investments? If these "victims" had any money sense at all they would think this man is a scammer unless they are ok with being involved with a scam themselves. Its called greed. I do not feel for the victims at all. Maybe they fell for a nice man with a quick talking money making "idea" but not a legitimate financial transaction. If I gave a person money to invest for me I would make sure I had records of this transaction and I would want documented results of gains and losses. Did these victims receive such documentation?

The victims of his scam were just as greedy as he was. There is nothing wrong with entrusting your extra income with a reputable investment firm but when you hand your hard earned money over to a man because he SEEMS like a kind man involved with his church, community, family, etc. and knows how to fast talk a good sales pitch then you are just asking for trouble. Victims? I think not.

I can't disagree more with this statement. There were statements from more senior citizens who had this guy basically act as a trustee of their retirement funds, than a bunch of greedy speculators looking for big quick returns.

I would guess that most of his victims are low educated, older, trusting country folks who put more value in "moral character" than in certifications on the wall of an office in the city.

That's what is really disturbing about this. It's one thing to hear about a Big NYC ponzi scheme that lost the money of a bunch of rich opportunists, but when you rip off the people who you grew up around and saw every day that makes you a sociopath!

A lot of the folks hurt by this were baby boomers trying to make the most of what little money they have left after they lost so much in thier retirement funds that were invested in the stock market. Can't blame them for that. But wish they had investigated where thier money was going first.

Brown's Tax Service has done our taxes since he was in the little one room office. He tried to get my wife to invest her 401k rollover from leaving the job where she had it, however the 15% sounded a little to good to be true. As far as the tax side of the buisness goes, he seem to know what he was doing. May heart goes out to the ones he bilked. May God bless the ones hes done wrong. God will judge him accordinly...

My father invested his retirement with jack brown. My father received his monthly statements & his money was where it should be. Jack continued at my father to let him invest his IRA in a money market. My father finally gave in just weeks before jack was exposed. Now mind you my father is a high school friend of jacks & yes they attend the same church. But that doesn't hold jack accountable for his actions. The church is not responsible for his actions, jack is, my father is not responsible for jacks actions, jack is!!! No one knew what jack was doing, so if we are going to point fingers they need to be pointed at jack!!!!&& jack alone. I will say Janet is just as guilty, when the check came from my fathers IRA Janet took it to Community Bank signed it and cashed it. So yes Janet knew what was going on & charges will be pressed against her!!! As for Jason I don't know his role in this & I personally think his mother and father have pulled the wool over his eyes as well!!!! All I can say is that my father is a giving man & was helping Janet take jack to dialysis and would do anything for there family. That's what life long friends do. As of now we still pray for there family & also pray that my father gets his money bank. Which he may do to the bank caShing the check without verification. With that being said to each there own if your going to talk trash on here please don't direct it at the church, bc as a church there doing was there suppose to open there doors to everyone. I understand your point. But your language is uncalled for. Weather you spell it out or whatever. What does that say about the church you are part of?

Go back and reread her statement. She never did say she was a memeber of a church. Being a Christian does not excuse feeling righteous anger towards another persons sin. Oh, and for what it's worth...Jack was not a single player in this game. I find it hard to believe he was able to pull this off with the help of his trusted wife and son.

I do believe you meant to say "WITHOUT the help of his wife and son" didn't you?

Sale Creek COG is haven to all sorts of crooked people and 'businesses' that claim to be Christian as they are ripping you off or their employees off!

Do just a little searching and find out for yourself.

I feel this event with the fraud is little more than "What goes around comes around" for that bunch.

If you are offended by this comment than you are either one of those who are crooks, or you know EXACTLY what I'm saying is true and are just in the 'denial' stage of your acceptance of it.

They hav one our taes for yearsnd i theywereabl wuld be doing themthis yer. Crazy... no,they have always treated us top notch. We had used another tax preparer who did not get us all we had coming back so we moved here, and they have always one a good job. Praying that the truth comes out, and it may just be that they were scammed higher up the chain also. Let's not even consider that most would say, but it can happen.

Are you that naive? They are crooks! Just because they got you a good return doesn't mean they can do no wrong. Lots of crooks are good at their jobs. They hide behind that! You should step out of la la land long enough to see what goes on in this world.

So, if the trusted wifey is innocent in this drama, why did she sell a motorcycle to have cash to hire an attorney? Seems suspicious to me. Hey, Janet, I bet you'd look good in orange or black & white stripes!

Just saw an interview with a Mr. and Mrs. Majors, investors of Mr. Browns, on tv. Seemed like Mr. Majors was giving Mr. Brown a slight excuse for his criminal behavior and perhaps covering his own tail too. How do you entrust and invest 200,000.00 with a man, not a reputatble company, and expect it to be on the up and up. It all comes down to greed and or stupidity on all involved in thinking they can let one man and his family make them rich.
