if everyone was tried on whats reported and not proven in court many people would have and have had their reputation tarnished with no apologies from the media. Also don't assume people that are posting wanting the facts and not all the gossip isn't someone that invested and lost money also. i would like to see what the legal outcome is without all the gossip. yes sometimes they do "go after" someone and investigate and until they can sort everything out. not the best way for our legal system to basically convict before all evidence is in or tried in a court room. Public opinion is often worse and they wouldn't want people talking trash if it was their family or family member. One thing for sure you find out who your friends are. you do not turn your back on friends even if they make mistakes in life. i haven't seen this much posted about Murders ,rapists and child molesters. Sad. Love you and your family Jack.

You must be one the hypocrites who attend Sale Creek Church of Goins, I mean, God with the Browns. Just proves church attendance on Sunday doesn't mean you are living right the rest of the week. Their actions do not surprise me at all. I feel bad for those who were stolen from and hope the Browns are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law - unless, of course, they use all that stolen money to hire a high power lawyer to cut a deal for them.
Well a thief is a thief and they will get what they deserve but only a So called Fellow Christian who is a COWARD would hide behind their own self righteousness and throw stones at other families who arent involved.

The whole situation is a horrible sad one no matter what truly is going on. Jack and his family were a loved family and are still loved by the people of Sale Creek Church of God and by anyone else involved in the situation that love God. Because thats what He tells us we have to do. No matter what happens there will be many hurt on both sides of this and the best thing we can do is pray for them both. Sale Creek COG is a wonderful wonderful church with MANY wonderful people in it. I have never felt more loved by people in a church until I attended SCCOG. Its a sad day when an entire church gets looked at badly (or denomination for that matter) for one familys mistakes. I have a lot of people in my family that were affected by this and I am hurt for all of them but I also believe the people in my family that were hurt will continue praying for the Brown family no matter what the outcome is. I am sooo glad God doesnt hold me accountable for the sins of others. Like I said, the gossip is rediculous and pointless but thats about all this site is good for. Why not use something like this to be helpful or to let other people know that many prayers are needed for this family and the people involved in this whole mess. Just sayin.....

Why not pray for all the sinners that overcrowd the Rhea County jail. Let God forgive them for ALL they did and we shall FORGIVE them as well and SET THEM ALL FREE!!! Why not. Isn't that the "christyun-thang" to do? The jail will be empty millions of dollars saved and we can even forgive people before court and before long there will be no need for a county judge, sheriff or anyone else because God will make everything right for all his little children. Now let's bring on the hatred comments you Sunday morning pew warmers.

I believe Jack Brown is Innocent, but even if he is not, Jesus only bad-mouthed those that were so-called church people, but he went and had dinner with the sinners. Nuff said.

We should all be careful what we say because it's inevitable that the accuser will someday become the accused.

Here's my take:

"What you sow you will reap"

This guy and his family have stolen the financial security of their own neighbors and 'friends', lied about it as well to the same people, they have not begged forgiveness or admitted what they have done was wrong, and from another account they have violated the laws of the land as well.

It would not be just or right to absolve this groups wrong. For every action there needs to be reaction, and 'justice' entails that the reaction be equal to the action.

odds are however they will not be, which is really wrong.

Pray for him and still love him all you want.... I remember that lesson from Sunday school class too. However, I also remember in Kings where the 42 kids were making fun of Elijah's bald head and God sent out two bears to maul them to death. So pray on for the Browns if that makes you feel better, I'll reserve my prayers for their victims. Two of which were my parents.

If you don't have a fat bank account or are a high standing member in society you really don't have a place in Sale Creek Church of God and you will NOT fit in or be accepted. Most (notice I said most, not all)of the pew warmers and isle runners are recovering (or current) drunks or drug abusers, liars or thieves. One of the biggest gossip mills and some of the most materialistic people I have ever encountered. I moved on and now attend a wonderful church where it does not matter what kind of car I arrive in or if the clothes I'm wearing have a designer label. One where people are genuine when they say the care and love you, who are willing to help you if you need it and pray with you. I know Christians are not perfect and God's mercy and grace is extended to all of us. But, if you are going to run to church every time the doors are open, at least don't live like the devil the rest of the week.

I go to Sale Creek Church of God and what you all say about my church is not true. Shame on all you so called Christians who can't wait to sling mud on other people. The folks at Sale Creek are striving to follow Christ, this scandal has been a shock to everyone. There is no need to bash the church for one mans behavior. Its hard to know what goes on at a church unless you are a member there.

There will always be some in a group that have a good heart, but as far as the larger families and members it's hard to deny that sale creek tends to attract a good amount of crooks who continue to walk that way.

Yeah, we're all sinners but once you know better and continue to do wrong, there is no forgiveness left.

I think most just want to know why this church attracts these types? Is it because they look the other way at stuff, or is it because there are a bunch of trusting people who allow themselves to be victims?

I was very shocked to hear about Browns Tax service fraudulent practices. As a Christian, I am keenly aware that 'but by the Grace of God go I'. We live in a 'fallen world' and as humans, we are all 'capable' of horrible offenses. Sadly, somewhere along their journey, they began to be enticed by and were overpowered by this temptation (greed, theft, fraud) and made the decision to 'give in to it' thereby neglecting the power of Christ in them to overcome. Very sad for ALL involved.
