totally awful, how can some one in thier right mind treat an animal like that?

I am certain that I will continue to eat meat. However, I feel that the whole process could be less barbaric. A lion will chase down prey and kill it and eat it and it's like the natural order of things. Mankind on the otherhand always has to develope some way that somehow cuts corners in the name of the mighty dollar. Like I say, I do like my sausage , egg and chz biscuit from Hardee's

I have only heard about some of these horrors until now. I honestly thought there were laws in place that would make the killing of these animals more humane. The government should force regulation that would make these companies treat those animals more humanely during their lives and kill them more humanely as well. It might drive up the cost of meat to do this but....oh well. I would rather eat beans and will make an attempt to decrease my own intake of meat.

I watched a number of videos on the treatment of animals in the meat and poultry processing industry. I also watched a number of videos about bullfighting. The abuse of animals for food production and for "sport" is enough to make one ill. Few legislators will stand up to the lobbying interests in the meat and poultry industries, and in other countries local standards will only change over time. For once, the United States does not stand alone in its culpability. Small consolation.

It's so easy to just shrug and order another Big Mac, isn't it?

You know many,if not most 3rd world countries have been eating mostly vegetarian for years because they couldn't afford it. now they realize it is healthier. Factory farming is so cruel AND nasty. You know if people get sick from eating meat all I have to say is Good Riddance.Because there is no such thing as non-cruel slaughter.
