Why do some ppl in the church get the holy spirit every church service ? But some have been going to that same church for several yrs and the holy spirit never gets them. How come it seems like it only happens in church ? Why cant it get you walking in a grocery store ?

If you have recieved Christ as your Saviour, you are then indwelled by the Holy Spirit. He resides with you permanently and NEVER leaves.Jumping around or shouting has nothing to do with this!

I have never understood why some jump shout run fall in the floor. And if you notice its the same person at church doing this. I am saved but have never acted that way. At times I wonder why all saved ppl don't do this.I guess GOD has it for you at a different time.

Mythought: here is that some people respond in different ways to the moving of the Spirt and some are more sensitive to the moving of the Lord. However an element of caution is that we want what is real. There are false signs and people that are just a little flaky.

There is a REAL visitation that is coming SOON and i BELIEVE that it will resemble the one in Isaiah Chapter 6. It says there that the house was filled with smoke and the doorposts were moved. There was much more AND there was a PRESENT WORD from the Lord.

I consider a PRESENT WORD to be when the Lord speaks to you in real time a soveriegn word that is so ALive THAT it is undeniable and no one can talk you out of it that YOU HAVE HEARD FROM THE LORD. ONE WORD FROM HIM CHANGES EVERYTHING. Nothing compares to HIM or when HE SPEAKS. Blessed are they that love His appearing. I need HIM to speak to me and I have gone in the strength of his word like Elijah. He spoke to me in 1982 and again in 2006.

In the year King Uzziah died...There was a very real response and a sending forth. The LORD spoke to Isaiah and said, "Whom shall we send?" Isaiah responded, Here am I, send ye me." What also followed was the destruction of the nation.
~one-way~
I believe also, it's better to be a flake than to not believe God for anything. Take the Church of Christ denomination, while they believe in Salvation, they dont seem to believe that God does anything today.
If you dont believe He is going to answer your prayer, why do you even pray? Can't some of you even HOPE for an answer? I have seen DIVINE Intervention in the affairs of man even in this hour and YOU WILL NEVER TALK ME OUT OF IT. I WOULD HAVE TO DIE FOR IT. And know there are not many things I would die for.
+the Cross!
Even Devil worshippers even know that their false god is real and does supernatural things.
((((((((((
The LORD says HE CHANGES NOT. He is the same GOD who delivered Daniel, sent a whale to swallow Jonah, raised Lazarus from the dead, turned water into wine and walked on water. EVEN BAPTISTS BELIEVE THE LORD STILL WORKS SUPERNATURALLY TODAY....even though they dont believe in the same way as a Pentecostal might.
+++
Anyway, I CHOOSE TO BELIEVE IN JESUS AND HIS SUPERNATURAL DIETY and HIS WILLINGNESS TO INTERVENE IN MY LIFE. I AM VERY DESIREOUS OF A PRESENT WORD FROM THE LORD. If you are so inclined, would you please pray for me? My name is DAVID and I am lonely for the WORD of the Lord.

My final thought is who cares if they fall to the floor, I guess I would rather do something than nothing besides which that can be very entertaining, even a little uplifting. I like flags waved around. There is something to it, it seems to honor the Lord and I long for the stirring of the Spirit.

The short answer to why people only run around, faint, etc in pentecostal churches during services and not anywhere else and by anyone other than pentecostals is:

That is what they are trained to do. Since the beginning of recorded history those who profess to be closer to God are regarded as "Blessed" more than those who don't. This gets them much needed attention and it gets other people in the congregation to gawk and wonder why God chose this person (usually in undereducated impoverished areas)

If you acted like this in a Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, Jehovah's Witness, Presbyterian, Mormon, Episcopal, Grace Calvary or any other Christian Denominational church you would be kindly escorted out by an attendant.

In the Bible the Holy Spirit (and miracles for that matter) were used to prove points and to teach, not to act like possessed children in the confines of their own building. It was an excellent question why they don't "Get the spirit" when they are at the Grocery store, Doctors office, Work, etc. Odds are they are surrounded by others of their faith, so you can't use the excuse of "When two or more are gathered..."

Also why wouldn't the spirit move them to speak in ACTUAL languages that they are unfamiliar with? Wouldn't that pretty much help their mission, if you could just drop into ANY country and speak the language like those original Christians?

In short, it's bologna that is learned protocol by those who subscribe to that particular denomination. Nothing deeper than that, and if that's how they are, well then so be it.
