This poll should not be here. I am going to request the moderator remove this. It isn't any business of any person what happened over 20 years ago. Thius is just a treasure hunt trying to discredit a good, hard working man who has served Dayton well his whole adult life. Shame on the person that started this poll.

I don't know how to get a hold of him. I'd like to though, he's pretty cute. LOL My bad, can't help it.

I disagree. If it was done dishonestly then people have a right to know. And if it's true then Chris should have to pay back every dolar he has earned dishonestly! And all he has done is serve his self well. Kenny Walker, Bill Cranfield, and Bill Carlton all were screwed to put Chris in a chief.

All kidding aside, I agree with you naked truth. I have heard rumors about Dayton's Police Chief and oftened wondered if they were true. If indeed he has obtained his position in a fraudulent manner then yes, absolutely he should have to repay every penny ever earned while unscrupulously holding that position and earning a living. Then again, who in Dayton would really do anything about it?

Well, I suppose we will just have to agree to disagree on this one. As for Kenny Walker, what are you implying? Kenny got everything he deserved, we all know that. He walked on rice paper for so long that he finally fell thru it and either had to resign and save face or be fired. None of this was nobodies fault but his on. As for Billy, he never got screwed over by anyone. People will try to say that Billy got caught talking to an FBI agent and was forced to resign. That isn't true either. And Bill Carlton, he wanted to run for county commissioner and was told he had to resign in order to run and he didn't like it. In the end he lost his job and the election and couldn't even make it as a chief of Graysville PD.

In fairness, I agree that if any police officer got certified fradulently then by all means they should lose their certification and pay back all money or go to jail in lieu of it. Just try to not mingle Chief Sneed's integrity with those who do not even know the meaning of the word.

Kenny did just what he was told and stopped the men from walking with their cross on Gay Day. Therefore violating their rights. Just like Chris did the street preacher by saying there's an ordinance that doesn't exist. To save a lawsuit against the City, Kenny had his choice, resign or be fired. Bill Cranfield is better off anyway, so I'll do as you wish and leave that alone. Bill Carlton: if what you say is true, then he surely got screwed by being told he had to resign to run for County Commissioner when you had Ronnie Raper on the county commission, and there was Eric Ewton's aunt who worked somewhere in the city who was allowed to run for the county commission.

Now Brian, does this make us friends? I agreed to shut up about 1 of the 3.

You really have me so curious on so many things Naked Truth. I bet you could answer a lot of questions I have. You also sound like a fair-minded individual who is pretty frustrated with the same things I am. I sincerely hope you do not stop posting. This is 100% sincere and 0% sarcastic.

I think there may be some misunderstanding concerning police certification in Tennessee. There seems to be the "pre-employment" requirement that must be met in order to attend any POST recognized certification. Maybe I'm reading the law wrong and perhaps you guys know more than what the law states, I don't know. It is just around Rhea County it is hard to venture beyond the "way it's always been done" mentality without people clashing. To be accepted at Donnelson the sheriff, chief, etc. must certify that the pre-emp. req. was met. This is sworn to under oath. It doesn't seem possible for anyone with several hundred bucks to attend a police academy and walk out a certified officer when the person isn't even an officer. That be the case we all can become certified cops couldn't we? It sure seems that IF Sneed, or anyone else for that matter, never met the pre-existing employment requirement and a father (sheriff) sent him as an employee of the RCSD when in fact he wasn't, then someone may have a problem. As for the tolling of the statute of limitations that seems to not apply as "concealment" of facts "fraudulently" does not begin until the toll anything until actual knowledge of what may be is obtained. However, in any event, the offense for such appears to be only a misdeameanor and for torts it seems that after 1 year, concealed or not, the perp is scott free. But then again, the civil ramifications of fraud or unjust enrichment may run much deeper resulting in being forced to return the money back to the public coffers in which it was essentially unjustly taken, or accepted or suffer some sort of penalty. Like I say, I do not know the facts nor make any assumptions but just commenting on a topic posted on a generic forum of anonymous posters. One thing for sure IF I was in any kind of position where anyone could even remotely make comments like this, I would be scared shittless regardless of who my daddy, uncle, wife, uncle-in-law or whoever may be. This one is like a "biggie" whereas one must stand alone. Glad it isn't me in any regard. Check out the law yourselves at http://state.tn.us/sos/rules/1110/1110-02.pdf and share with us your views about it.

There's been a lot of people pass through the City's employment gates. You'd be surprised what you can learn on the back of a garbage truck if you just keep your eyes and ears open. Mr. Wilson who is over the garbage trucks is married to Chris' aunt Vickie. If you just listen when people grumble about having to do things to cover up for others, you can hear all kinds of things. And sometimes the people you think you can trust most are the ones you can trust least. Everyone can trust St. Christopher!!

Again, I say in a different way, I am glad you are here. I like being reaffirmed that what I suspect of a man's character is turning out to be true. I don't think you are yanking anyone's chain here. I get the feeling you are angry for your own reasons, as I am angry too. You make me feel like I am not alone in not agreeing with those that think certain people employed by and FOR the city of Dayton are by far good honest people. Again, I am thanking you for posting.

Absolutely on the comment made about Kirby! Does that man ever do anything other than warm the secretary's chair in the Dayton Police Department? The only time I ever see this man is if he is sitting at the secretary's desk or washing his car in warm weather.

Do you people realize that when people from the world Google Dayton, Tennessee ALL of this stuff pops up? Before you know it people will drive around Dayton as they now do Dayton and soon will fade away and become something like a Pikeville. Scary thoughts. Then again, if none of this stuff is true then it shouldn't matter, anonymous or not. Just like a dog follows a scent trail anyone of us here that can free think on our own can easily follow a paper trail. Everything is known in these small towns it's just most people do not speak up against it, until now. So long Mr. Vincent. No more free illegal city insurance for you now pal. Sell off some of that property to pay those mounting medical bills my 4'3" soft, spongy, smirkie smurfie friend.

Why don't you give someone a chance to reply? You answered your own question immediately. I wonder why. Maybe its because you know that all that live around here are a bunch of complainers with no guts to change anything. The other half of the people that live around here think things are hunky dory or close their eyes to things they know are wrong. So I guess your answer to your own question was right, including you too?

Now why would the old farts that run our community care what the world thinks? They might if they wanted or welcomed change and growth, but they don't. They are happy with the closed off little world of Dayton, Historic Downtown Dayton is becoming a ghost town, don't even need red lights there anymore traffic is so low. I guess that's because a lot of people out of work there's not much rush in the morning or afternoon from people buzzing to work. No work, no money, no shopping rhea county.

There are alot of gutless people?!? as you say, but you have give this the wrong name! there is alot of "scared people" that know if they stand up and say anything, they would be ridiculed, possible job cut, If they were lucky enough to keep thier job, they would be miserable, and why? because they spoke up and betrayed the "family tree"
That comment was Rhea County in general, as I have stated pryor to this statement, I personally don't have any problems with Chris seems like a decent man
