obviously the writer of the offending post has never had to work for their money. It is hard to oome by when you make it honestly. Easy to look down when you are are at the top but if you had to lose your self and values to get there you are not up that high.

Obviously it seems that the writer of such hateful post is someone who feels they have been cheated out of life. They confuse a person who works hard and is a success as someone crooked and bad. As with this mayor race coming up I can't see voting for some man that settles to mow a graveyard who obviously is not capable of stepping out into the world and make a success of himself. Doss could have spent the last 20 years building a successful landscaping business and be able to now have lots of time to devote to public service but no, he chose to settle working hard for less. I would never hire a janitor of a company to be the CEO of the company. As they say, a hard working mule never gets to go to the horse races. Nothing personal just an obvious fact.

also this election will also place two in council out of threee thats running steve and billy running to be re-elected jerry morgan running to win a seat.that is why i was asking about who will be the 5th person on the city council. so GOOD LORD theres more then just two people running for a seat on the council.also this election will have replacement for out going mayor bobby vincent. theres a total of five people running for seats on the council, two for mayor. am i not corret listen carefully????
You are right about Steve and Billy. Their terms have run out, therefore they are seeking re-election. Jerry Morgan is running trying to oust one of the two men. Bob Vincent is the mayor and is not seeking to be re-elected, therefore Louallen and Doss are running for mayor to fill Vincents seat. They are both councilmen therefore which ever one of them winsand becomes mayor, it will leave a council seat vacant. Then there will be a special called election, probobly in August to fill that seat. In other words, they don't get to pick the fifth councilman. we do. Hope that clears this up for you:)

Ouch! Sorry people are not measuring up to your buy a poker machine, become rich and famous aspirations. By the way, does the name John Boehner mean anything to you? Last I looked he was the third most powerful man in the United States. He was a janitor. He did pretty well for himself. Nothing wrong with making an honest living in this country.

if there is a special election to be had then it needs to be had way BEFORE August. We need to remember what got Dayton with that charter change because there was only 4 councilmen when Barnes died and the 2 on one side and the 2 on the other couldn't decide. April is election no need to wait until August. What's happening in August? These councilmen will put off a special election because in reality an election will not be needed. Louallen, Graham and Randolph will be three so they will be in no hurry sitting watching Doss sit there like a big bull frog.

John Boehner worked hard to become successful. Had he had the ambition of Bobby Doss the man would still be a janitor. I see your point but I agree with non achievers comment because anyone can be good at doing the same old nothing jobs but not anyone can go from a janitor to a senator as you say without having to get out there and do it. Ever heard the name Juan Hernandez? He started out with 1 truck, lawn mower and some basic garden tools and within 12 years generated a large landscaping empire with over 400 employees nationwide. Doss could have done the same thing, just as Hernandez, as did John Boehner succeeded by having the ambition and leadership.

Well that is just sad to thnk someone would think it was okay to charge the city that kind of money for a night stay with food and liquor charges. Honestly, these people are not to be turned loose wth credit cards and city money.

Just heard Vincent is trying to put his wife on the ethics commission!! What a joke!! Is that even ethical?? Oh I forgot, he can do whatever he wants with whoever he wants because he is the all powerful Wizard of Dayton! Could it be he is doing damage control just in case he is called before the commission??

First of all what kind of ethics does a steak eating lady who splurges on city money got? She will be the voice for Bob and Doss will be the other one. Now we got three Vincent's on charge.

More rumors. Even Bob Vincent knows he can't "ethically" appoint his wife to anything. In fact, he can't even "ethically or "legally" buy his wife lunch using his city issued credit card. How long has he had that Dayton taxpayer Visa Card in that wallet of his? He also can't buy his wife lunch with "his personal credit card", sign the receipt then turn that receipt it to city hall for payment and reimbursement.

So for Bob Vincent to remotely "think" his little going away present of "appointing his wife to the Dayton Ethics Committee" (of all things the ethics committee), then I would say the man is insane.

Since that rumor is all settled, is there any truth to that nasty "rumor" going around that Bob Vincent drinks like a fish? I hate it when people are so mean and try to make a good, honest, church going man sound like a drunk. I hate these politics.

Sounds like a great plan. The thing about it is he is delusional. He's already turned in his city cell phone. Any truth to the rumor that someone got his cell phone records? Heard that's why he turned it in early. Surely not. I just hate politics.

Might want to check the minutes from the council meeting monday night. Vincent let his boy run the meeting, didn't bother showing up. Guess he is done. Shows this voter how he really feels about the city that has given him many many city paid trips, lavish meals and parties, and other perks over the years. And yes, Maxine is on his list of people he has recomended to the ethics committee. This is just sick. Anyone that Vincent is happy to endorse for mayor,as he did in the paper for Doss,or council will never get my vote. He stated that he was happy Doss was running, and Doss has been his vice since the last election. I have had enough of Vincent, and Vincent Jr.

lets go back, there had to be a vote for vice mayor. so bob was not the only one to vote doss as vice mayor.i have heard all of this , yet i have seen NO PROOF.i have looked through the city of dayton. ive seen three signs together in many areas.is this telling the people how to vote?is this not trying to control others vote?if they were near each other then it wouldnt be so obvious.since they are against each other in groups of three. seems like they are telling the people just how to cast your vote.signs cannot vote.but signs do have away of making a voters mind up.ive seen in yards not three same ones together.but the winner will win by the silent voters. believe me the silent voters all have seen this picture of three signs against one another.when this is all over and done with.the silent voters will either elect all three or maybe only one.all this bashing and pointing words with no proof shown doesnt click the X.dont say in the end my vote is not controled. therefore i may be all alone but i will only be casting my vote for only one of the three that has thir signs close together.i hope others see this and think it over before they cast their X.
